Weisbrod was in charge oh suprise suprise NCAA scouting and development.
Intellectual Honesty my brown banana.

Ya know, if Iginla wins the cup with Pittsburgh and then returns to the Flames in the offseason, it means Feaster got 2 prospects and a 1st round pick in exchange for 17 games of Iginla's services, where the season was a lost cause anyway. In other words, 3 prospects essentially for free.
If Iginla doesn't sign here in the offseason, there would be almost no doubt that he would have walked away at free agency anyhow.
The way I see it, Feaster got something for the organization in a situation where he very easily could have got nothing.

Agreed, with the cap going down next year Iggy was a pure rental to any of the contending teams, I think there's zero chance Pitt signs him after this season and wouldn't be totally surprized if he's back.
Not sure why people are pissed off with the return,he's a soon 36 year old UFA that still wants big money.
People aren't thinking with their brains.

When the guy hired to replace feaster is personally canned by the teams backup goalie, you'll know.

Though it took Darryl Sutter feeding him raw meat in 2003 to save him from the trade block, which he was firmly on for playing below guys like Albelin, and Gauthier for his first few years.

What about the Erixon situation? Did he badly handle that?

What I also found was that the negotiation for an extension according to Feaster (big grain of salt) is that for what Iginla wanted for term and for $ wasn't going to fit. And that they were significantly far apart...basically closing the door on a return (though if he does get that Cup, you never know).
Would be interesting to see what he signs for in the offseason, and how "unreasonable" that would end up being on the Flames payroll...not for Joe Schlub, but for their franchise player. The market may well pay him well, but may also pay him an amount that the Flames could easily afford and justify, even with a rebuild, for a face of the city and franchise.

when do you really think these 2 NCAA wonderboys are going to actually play a meaningful full season for the Flames. Seriously when?
I bet 2016.

Very well said.
Jarome is a legend and it will be almost impossible to view the situation objectively because of that.
Feaster is sort of like an appointed receiver-manager right now. Nothing's going to be great but he has a lot of creditors to answer to.

All he and King/Edwards did there was threaten Sather with tampering charges which were pretty clear from afar, let alone those with more knowledge of the intricacies of the situation.
I think KK/Feaster give a wry grin when asked about it at an STH thing, too.

If that's the case, is that a problem? It's a rebuild, it might take time.

I feel sorry for the 2 guys. They'll never get a fair shake from fans here.
Wonderboys? Give me a brake!

I really wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Calgary next season. Meaning you get a first rounder and 2 who knows for free since this season was a write off anyways.
Here's hoping he somehow ends up in Edmonton but that's wishful thinking

In this deal the Flames got 2 prospects and a pick. They might not pan out, but then again, one or more of them might.
Bottom line, Iggy wanted to go to Pittsburgh and he deserved to have that choice after all the years he served here. Feaster's options were limited and it's not like he was bombarded with a ton of better offers than the one he ultimately accepted. Iggy had a no-trade and ultimately held the cards. In my view, Feaster did the best he could in a tough situation.

and who was the centerpiece of that deal coming back. Wasn't it Horak?
Where is he.
So what has time proven to us Feaster moved nothing because of Sutters blunder for nothing.
Because the intillectual honesty is Horak is not going to be capable to stick in the NHL but is a great AHL player then to this fan he is nothing the NHL Calgary Flames.
