Drew Stafford, Erik Cole, Joe Pavelski, Dave Backes, Patrick Sharp, Andy McDonald, T.J. Oshie, Justin Abdelkader, Curtis Glencross (didn't play a junior year) all had similarISH numbers in their junior years in NCAA.

You need to look at all NCAAers with their numbers, not just the ones who made it.

There is a good chance this trade could be a total dud for the Flames, but they needed to do it. Hopefully Weisbrod turns out to be a genius. The Flames were handcuffed by a NTC and only 4 teams they could talk too so we really shouldn't be too hard on them. I just hope they are not done moving people out. Cammalleri, Stajan, Bouwmeester, Sarich, Babchuk, etc.

I guess we will see what the Agostino and Hanowski bring to the table in a few years, but from what I am reading from people who follow them they are average prospects at best.

Thats called pulling a "Feaster" when a GM tells a mis-truth to appease their fanbase. Knowing full well that with a little internet research the ruse will soon be discovered.
AKA lying through your chubby cheeks.
Screw you Feaster.

I'm happy for the individual, but not happy for the collective.
Welcome to the Dark Years, redux. It was only a few years ago we were the Division champions and regularly making the playoffs, even if we weren't winning them.
|
How about this view. Iginla has increased the value of the Calgary Flames over the past 15yrs. He has all the scoring records in Flames history and has done more for the community than 99.9% of the city. He earned the right to leave and try and win a cup.

I wonder if Pittsburgh knew that the final choice would be Iginla's? Rather than just being dealt to a team on his list.
They put themselves in a decent position to not overpay in the slightest. They put forth a rather underwhelming but albeit fair offer, and probably banked on knowing that they were probably his first choice.
Sad day, but my sadness is being distracted by how fascinating this has been, not mention the return of playoff Iggy.

Sorry folks, I'm just not feeling all that optimistic right now about this trade or the Flames

Who knows, depending how the season finishes and the draft lottery goes if CAL struggles down the stretch, CAL might have another impact player start his NHL career 17 games from now?
