Pffft bragging about his iPhone ...

Yeah the dramatics of running off the set and running back on with a #### eating grin on face, cracking the story.

I still don't like how or why this came out at 11:30, but at least Iginla is talking tomorrow to the press.

No. Ward made a mistake. His source was wrong and he clearly misjudged his sources reliability. There are far worse people in the media.

Plus, it is nice seeing a player in the media who was not a hack for his entire career (cough Kypreos, May).

How about Feaster trolling to end all trolling?

@aaronward_nhl: Apologies, had multiple sources confirm a trade that did not happen.

I was calling for his head at first, but now I blame the producer or Duthie or whoever. Put ward on the spot a little bit on live tv seconds after getting off the phone. They should have gone to break and talked about it for 15 seconds first.

They should definitely apologize though, and the whole "being first to break the news pissing contest" thing has gotten out of hand.

Crap happens. Everyone wants to know immediately and there's multiple networks/social media, etc that will break a story with minimal confirmation. At least bob mckenzie kept saying its not 100% done, he kept tsn grounded.

I think Boston is reeling, someone in their camp did think it was done, feaster might very well have pulled one over on chiarrelli.

Some on Twitter say that Ward should not be permitted on Tradecentre for the rest of the week.

Why?

This is what Aaron Ward signed up for.

If he never wanted to be in the spotlight, he should've left his phone at home and left his seat on TradeCentre

Feaster said there were multiple offers and Iginla had the final say as to where he wanted to go. Not surprised he chose Pittsburgh.

Some of you guys are sad, angry people. He's not a trained journalist, he made a mistake. I'm sure he feels terrible about it. He probably won't make the mistake again. No one here has ever screwed up at work?

He's human like the rest of us - err except for a few on this forum.

Should not be fired.
That was an amazingly horrible/but awesome roller coaster ride. Especially when reading the other thread and seeing everyone FREAK about the "conditional" pick. Hate seeing him go, but am SO glad it's not with Boston!

I have confirmation. Aaron Ward has been traded to Boston College Public Radio.

He wasn't the only one blindsided by this and had another guy like Dreger or Kypreos fallen into the same mistake, they would probably garner even more hate. He'll have to deal with the egg on his face for a while, but doesn't change that he's a hell of a lot better than the other 2 aforementioned guys.

So what should someone in his position be fired for?

His whole existance on that panel is to be an "insider" and break deals as they happen....and those deals should be. you know, REAL?

yes he should be canned on the spot and maybe some of these idiots from all networks will actually do their jobs correctly instead of always trying to be first.
