Getting a first round pick and 2 prospects for 6 weeks of Iginla ( he is a UFA) is probably the best offer out there.

When 6 weeks of Fleury netted some no name ( who turned out to be Regher) fans were sad.

Heck when Neiwendyk was traded for a junior player in Kamloops it looked lopsided too.

I'm glad Iggy gets to challenge for a cup a la Ray Bourque and the Flames start to retool.

what i don't get is wasn't Iginla pretty adamant about not being a rental player? and then with the decision fully in his hands he chooses the team that won't even have the ability to re-sign him. total flip-flop

So it's confirmed. Iginla will be back in Calgary in July. Awesome

Do Detroit have any NCAA prospects that are projected to be third liners in the NHL? Otherwise no way Feaster makes this trade

Agostino is a player. These are Pittsburgh draft picks, not Flames picks.
So a stipulation should have been Pittsburgh make the 1st round pick for the Flames. I, for one, have no faith in the Flames scouting...

If it's true that the Boston deal fell through because of their insistence on making the 1st a conditional, I'm glad they got stiffed. Go condition your mothers, you effin beaners.

I'm pretty happy to have two 1st rounders in the mix now, even if one is going to be late.

Hopefully the Flames don't waste them.

...and maybe more coming yet?

I thought at the presser that Feaster said Iggy chose Pitt over Boston. It would not have mattered.

with the way Bouwmeester has been playing this year, and teams getting more desperate the closer the trade deadline gets, he should fetch at least a first
