Agostino looks like he could be OK...
Hanowski is a project.
1st round pick could be used as a bargaining chip.
I hate everything about the deal, the return is brutal, the first round pick is OK, it's going to be pick #29 so a 2nd rounder from FLA is worth about the same. This is seriously the most underwhelming possible return I think available. I honestly think Feaster has no clue what he is doing or what his plan is. He really likes these sort of unknown quantities. I still think that this Flames team could be much much better with someone else at the helm.
Buuuuut having said that I have to remain positive and think that this Agostino guy could be OK.

Who knows what happened behind the scene. Boston could have insisted only a conditional first, and Feaster went with the guaranteed first rounder from the Pens instead.
You can see Wisebrod's fingerprints all over the Flames prospects. We have a ton of NCAA players now it seems.

I too would love to see this. Perhaps not at 5 mill but him winning a cut then coming home to retire... One can dream.

A 1st round pick in a draft that is very deep with D-men and Centers (21 of the 30 that should go in the 1st round are C or D)
7 million dollars in cap space.
I'm pleased with that.
I'm more pleased that we are moving on finally to a new group of players.

Cap space is/should no longer be of any concern.

I wonder if Feaster and Iggy have some kind of honor agreement for him to resign here once he wins a cup.. whenever that may be?

Well it's a better deal than the last Boston one with a conditional pick but far worse than what I expected and hoped for. Neither guy will be NHL ready for a couple of years at least.

Pen's got a heck of a deal for Iggy. The other two prospects sounds like FATA. Pen's paid too much for Morrow. Still the Pens won the deals. If they don't win the Cup, it will be an epic fail.

Wow! WHat a night.
Never seen a trade so set in stone without actually being confirmed, and then completely not happening. Unbelievable.

Yeah, I see this as a worse return than the Boston one.
Sounds like Iginla really wanted to go to Pittsburgh though. Wonder where he'll sign next year?
