conditional 2014 in addition to the 2013 would make more sense. lots of twists in this story so far...hope to see more value emerge for the flames.

If the conditional pick is true, Feaster should be immediately fired.
I'd just keep Iginla rather than get a plug d-man and a potential second liner.

Flames drafted Nilson. Flames traded Nilson for Nieuwendyk. Nieuwendyk got traded for Iginla. Iginla may have gotten traded for just about nothing. That would end 30 years of superstars.

What if Iginla asked to be traded ala Pronger wanting out of Edmonton? Lots of possibilities and variables to be considered/yet to be determined. I'm waiting for the dust to settle before passing judgement.

The more I think on it the more I can't believe that would be the return. Like Feaster or not I don't think he or the higher ups that are involved are that stupid.
Heck it makes more sense at this point for the conditional pick to be a second 1st from Boston if he resigns. No way we get back a good prospect, a depth D that may or may not ever crack an NHL roster and a conditional pick... just no way.

Perfectly fine? It's what's needed. I like contending for the cup sometime in the future than sticking with one player that isn't much use to us in current situation.

Going to reserve judgement on this until I know the details.. I remember the Regehr trade and it was speculated it was Butler, Byron and a 2nd. But it was our 2nd, so maybe it'll turn out to be Koko, Spooner, Bart-whatever and a 1st.. Best to wait I suppose.

Feel fine, team is terrible with Iggy...now we at least have a chance for some good players in the future. No matter what the return people would have freaked out

I want Calgary to contend for a cup sooner than later as well.
Iggy deal had to be done, he was not going to re sign.
