When you look at the historical market for rental players - this return is atrocious and simply should be Jay Feaster's job.
A B prospect and a throw in for one of the best right wings in league history, rental or not, this is just brutal.

I repeat, Doug Murray got a better return than Jarome Iginla.

One thing I don't get is WHY trade him a week before the deadline? The closer you get there the crazier GM's get. Maybe we could've got Spooner and a guaranteed 1st, which is ridiculous if it is a conditional 1st.

Omg. Iggy didn't even warrant a guaranteed first round pick?

If it's conditional, has to be for 2014.

What a terrible trade. I want Feaster gone, like today. I don't trust the guy to get any value for any of the Flames other assets.
Douglas Murray got two seconds... which, if Iginla does not sign in Boston, is essentially equal, if not more value, than what Feaster got for Iginla.

I'm glad its Boston. Their fans had to watch Ray Borque go through exactly what Iggy is going threw now. It's a nice complete circle for them and hopefully starting one for Calgary

You don't trade your top RW for a conditional 1st in a market like this.
You just DON'T.

You don't make a trade (days before the deadline) for a conditional 1st...better be better than that for a deal today

This is an unmitigated disaster. Absolute garbage return when Douglas Murray gets 2 ends.
Mind=blown

Seriously?? what the heck? So, if Iginla decided to sign with Pittsburgh instead of re-signing with Boston or Boston decided to let him sign somewhere we got hosed. We ended with a minor leaguer forward and a defenseman comparable to Chris Butler. If we don't get Boston's 1st round, I will be the first to sign a petition to fire Feaster petition next season.

Absolute crap deal if the return is true. Feaster is not a NHL quality GM and the people he has surrounded himself with are no better. Quite possibly they messed up the biggest trade in franchise history.

Is that right? If we get two so called "top prospects" and lose Iginla, get him back 2 months later for nothing more than cash, I'm totally fine with it. If we lose someone who is a valuable asset to ANY team, and the absolute LEGEND that is Jarome Iginla, for 2 prospects and MAYBE a pick, I'm going to be pissed, and so will any other fan. This deal is ridiculous either way, but at least one way, it's redeemable.

Iginla could have walked this summer and Flames would have got nothing. Conditional first is better than nothing.
