This needed to be done, but I'm gettin' all emotional right now. Manly tears will be shed once this officially goes down. The guy is my favorite NHL player of all time, and I'll be cheering for him to hoist the cup this year. It's a shame it had to come to this. He should have been able to play for a Cup in Flames colours. This franchise failed Iginla big time.

Wow. Now that it has really become an inevitable reality, I feel kind of sick.

I'm happy for the organization being able to move forward, and I'm happy for Iginla to get another legit shot at the Cup. That said, this almost feels tragic. It's been so freakin' long since I watched the Calgary Flames play without Iggy.

Whatever happens, stay or go, Boston/Pittsburgh/LA/Chicago/etc., I wish nothing but good fortune for an absolute icon of Flames hockey.
