i still think we see some major movement from the flames.
i would be shocked, and saddened if most of the following are still on the roster:
iginla
giordano
bouwmeester
tanguay
jackman
butler
sarich
stempniak
stajan
the fact that we hear about iginla on the market, kipper trade rumours, bouwmeester's name, man, it's gotta mean the management is finally realizing this franchise is in terrible shape and needs a massive enema.
of course, you look at trading a lottery pick potentially for ROR this year, leaving us with no picks till the 4th round, and you have to think the flames management may still completely F things up here....

I think the cap going down substantially next season is really going to hinder the Flames ability to move non expiring contracts at the deadline this season.
I think this summer teams will have a better grasp on what they will be looking to going forward, and the Flames will be in a better spot to shop guys like Bouwmeester, Giordano, Cammalleri, Tanguay etc.
If all else fails though, and the Flames are still bad next season our pending UFA rental list will be a lot more potent with the likes of Bouwmeester, Cammalleri, Stajan and Stempniak on it.

Maybe this year our only move will be trading Tim Jackman instead of re-signing Tim Jackman! That'll show you guys that Feaster knows how to wheel and deal with the best of them.
Seriously though they could go out and trade any Flame on the current roster, and I wouldn't care a whole lot. From top to bottom there isn't one player on today's roster that really screams untradeable or a must keep. Maybe untradeable as in know one else wants them I guess.

Unsure really as to how much movement we'll see in the next week versus the offseason/leading up to the draft. Things tend to get silly on both occasions and there'd maybe be some potential deals to be made in a few months that won't have reared their heads at the deadline quite yet, for whatever reason.

ROR is currently playing at 0.917pt/game pace and he's 22.

I see little or no movement. Management will just state "we had a number of offers we were considering however we could not make it work in the end."
Come April 3 I have Flames vs Oliers tickets and I fully expect to see very much the same team we have now.

If Iginla is here I expect a whole lot of sentimental BS to be spewed to try and play to the fans hearts and hope they don't use their heads.
I still think they have to make moves and even this stubborn group can't be stupid enough to stand pat, but there is that little worry that they just might and outside of Edm and NYI I can't think of another management group that I would feel that way about in the league.

I'm expecting stupidity. So hopefully I can be mildly surprised by a half decent trade or two.

Iginla to the Bruins for Kokhlachev, Krug, and a 1st.
Stempniak to the Blues for Rattie.
Butler to the Canadiens for a 3rd.
Bouwmeester to the Flyers at the draft for ?, with the Flames holding back salary.
Those are my predictions. Iggy re-signs here in the offseason, 4 years 24M.

Young centres who perform at that pace are extremely rare. They are worth a lottery pick, which is still not a sure thing.

He's only played 12 games. Whoop-dee-freaking-do. Thomas Vanek looked like the greatest player to ever put on skates during his first 12 games this season. Hardly anything to get overly excited about. The fact that Feaster blew his wad on O'Reilly, a second line centre, is pretty scary to me and others, apparently.

It would get the most out of both Ratti and Sven.

The Flames need to draft atleast twice and hopefully three times in this draft. Iginla should return you a 1st and a guy like Stempniak might fetch it from a team pushing for a playoff spot. Is Stemp doesn't bring that a 2nd and a 3rd makes sense.
By the time third round starts the Flames should have 4-5 players drafted.

No way Pittsburgh is going to spoil the chemistry they have right now. Especially when they are getting career years from Kunitz, Dupuis, and Crosby leading the league in points. Besides, Iginla is too slow for the pace the Penguins play at. He's a far better fit for Boston.
