Hearing B's are in on other potential top 6 forward options aside from Iginla. Jaromir Jagr? Marty St. Louis? Maybe Calgary price too high

Pierre lebrun, on tsn radio said its very unlikely st.louis will be moved at all. I thought another interesting bit of info from leburn was, Mike smith from phoenix is a UFA this year and still hasn't discussed an extension. He said that could get very interesting.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 30s So @DarrenDreger says on TSN that Leafs will have interest in Kiprusoff if Flames move him and he's willing to go. I'd stick with young guys

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 9s @mirtle. They will certainly investigate, but won't overpay, so let's not get carried away. Unlikely.

Iginla traded to the Bruins? Is he already in Boston? Some believe it's true, but nothing confirmed. Gotta love rumors. #Iginlaabruin

No source but my own eyes, Flames scouts at the rebels/raiders playoff series the first two games. I would assume they are looking at McNeil

Default Sources: Chiarelli has eye on Clowe, Iginla

Quote:
Three NHL sources said Chiarelli had his eyes on Morrow, Clowe and Flames captain and pending unrestricted free agent Jarome Iginla. But to this point, the prices have been too high.

All three sources said that since the Bruins don’t have the high-end defensive prospect the Flames are seeking as part of a package that also would include a first-round draft pick and a roster player, the Flames want the Bruins to include goalie Malcolm Subban, Boston’s first-round pick in the 2012 draft.

The Flames, meanwhile, are rumored to be shopping longtime veteran starter Miikka Kiprusoff and would like to add some depth between the pipes in their system. That would explain why the Flames could be interested in Subban as the “high-end” prospect included in the deal.

One source wondered whether Subban, Peverley (whom the Bruins would be willing to move) and a first-round pick would satisfy Flames GM Jay Feaster and enable the Bruins to get Iginla. That is a steep price, and it would be reasonable for Chiarelli to wait and see if it went down as the deadline got closer. But he’d also be risking losing the chance to acquire Iginla to another Eastern Conference team, with the Penguins reportedly in the mix.

Based on his track record, Chiarelli isn’t going to be pressured into paying a ransom for a rental, so the belief here is he will pursue options that could net the Bruins a player or two who is signed past this season. Remember, the trades for Kelly and Peverley in 2011 were under-the-radar deals and it wouldn’t be surprising if Chiarelli is working on similar moves to try to spark the team, which has struggled on both ends of the ice of late.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 13s Will have more tonight on TSN's Sportscentre. Bruins-Flames continue to discuss Iginla trade with multiple assets in play. Not close, but...

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 10s it could progress if Flames make a decision. Boston also looking at other options including players with term on contracts. #tradecentre

Saw this on the eklund site (http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Matth...5#.UVJ9IhlAt00)

Here's a quote from Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times:

Quote:
"The chances of the Kings making and succeeding in a serious pitch for the right wing appear slim."

An update from a very reliable source:

Upper management/owners are working on things this morning. Iginla is the main topic of discussion but the Flames are also looking at trading smaller pieces as well.

@Hockey_tracker 2m
Sportsnet reports Jonathan Bernier and a first round pick would likely make Jarome Iginla a member of the #LAKings
