The Kercher family was successful in having the acquittal overturned and a new trial was ordered. Amanda Knox does not have to show-up, but if she is convicted in absence, Italy will likely seek to have the U.S. extradite her.
I can see the U.S. chosing not to comply though.

Who would of thought the Italians switching sides?

That may be the worst description of Italy that I have ever heard.

Actually it would be inadvisable for her to ever go to any EU country again.
And Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Ever been there? I've been to Milan and Rome. Garbage on the streets and the smell of urine off every beaten track, cool for history but extremely filthy.

Assuming you have been there, take your eyes off the historical sites next time and you'll see it's not fit for pigs. Out of the seven European countries I have visited it is by far the dirtiest, small sample with two cities but ugh.

Go to London, Paris, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Amsterdam and Rome... anywhere people have lived for thousands of years (shockingly before modern plumbing) and you will eventually smell urine... that is a pretty minor inconvenience when you consider the history and culture of the area.
Also the Tuscany in Calgary isn't the nicest Tuscany in the world so maybe going a bit outside the major cities will give a bit better understanding... that is like saying Western Canada is awful and pointing at how disgusting Edmonton is (Edmonton is actually quite nice)

So youve been to Rome and Milan? Thats like saying youve been to toronto and winnipeg and making a judgement on canada based on nothing else.
I have seen a lot of Europe and italy is pretty darn spectacular. All European countries have something to offer and all have some downsides.
Its a good thing you havent only been to Naples and Milan, cause then youd really have some bad things to say. But, a short distance from Naples is Sorrento and Amalfi. And a short distance from milan is turin and como... All some of the most beautiful places you can find in europe...
Take a trip to portofino or taormina and then see what you think...

Milan is a trash pit but: Your probably right, I didn't like Italy but like I said it was a small sample size. Apoligys to any Itatians about their country as it's probably nice in many many areas.
On topic, they need to get rid of Caligula and get a real court system in place.

Well in some ways it's actually pretty on point, particularly the political and legal systems, which may be the most corrupt of any supposed first world country.

I find it interesting how so many people are supporting the cute sexy white girl from the US of A and it just has to be the shady black drifter.
The Italian justice system is shady but come on peeps. She should get off on technicallities, as they seem quite incompetent over there, but she sure knows more or is involved more than she's saying.

Sounds like someone is an Italian Prosecutor.

The "shady black drifter" admits to at least raping the victim. It's not like his potential as a suspect in racially motivated.

Haha, guilty I guess.
Just to be sure though, if I was professing her innocence from an armchair that would be ok? I mean none of us really have a solid case since it was botched so bad.

I guess you're taking the 'guilty until proven innocent' approach then, because I've seen very little that puts her guilt anywhere close to beyond a reasonable doubt.

And tbqh, I am more intrigued at what I see as another all american sweetheart story which would have little to no coverage if the victim (knox) wasn't a member of the right demographic.
Regardles of what I might think or suspect, there's no way on earth I could justify a conviction. I should watch that vid though.
I'm actually quite sick of the media, I have seen enough news stories about things I am involved in (nothing criminal, lol) and what comes across in the story is nothing like what is really happening. It really makes it hard to have faith in stories where the news is your primary source of info.
