So they would rather get nothing than something?
I have no doubt in my mind this is Iggy's last year as a flame whether they trade him or not. Iggy is giving the flames a chance to get something for him while they can. They better do it.

Yeah Malkin, Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, Markov, they aren't worth the trouble. Don't let players like Radulov ruin the reputation of all Russians. I would not mind at all getting "Koko".

I'm a very bitter and sickened fan right now.
It pains me to see us just getting stomped on while we continue to sit on our hands and do crap all about it. Pull the damn trigger Feaster and let's get this show on the road.
It will honestly be nice when "aged" and "washed up" can no longer be used to describe this team. Bring on that youth movement, asap.

They need to blow the lid off of this thing fast. Clear the air and just get it over with.

From a public relations standpoint, management looks bad if they trade him for scraps, but Iginla looks bad if he walks in the summer. Hopefully they care more about improving the team and doing right by Iginla than they do about PR, but that remains to be seen.

Tonight's loss pretty much ended any glimmer of hope of making a run at the playoffs or any chance that they'll put themselves in anything resembling contention by the deadline.
Unless they think they can sign him by the deadline, he should not be playing another game. As far as this season is concerned, he is now meaningless to us, and there is absolutely no reason to risk playing him. Re-signing him is at least a defensible position, even if it is a bad choice, but not signing him or trading him is not defensible.

Horton would be outstanding but he's a UFA. And why the hell does Peverley keep coming up?

...because he's under performing, plays right wing (takes a lot of draws though) and carries a cap hit of $3.25 million for two more years. They will want to move him out in order to extend Iggy.

Yeah, I think people are going to be really disappointed when they actually watch this guy play. He's another Rene Bourque or Curtis Glencross. Shows flashes, but is way too inconsistent.

And why would the flames want to help them re-sign there? If they are working out an extension, I'd imagine a whole lot more than Peverley is coming back.

I think we shouldn't look for anyone over 25 years of age. We should aim to have acquired roster players just entering their primes by the time our prospects are NHL ready 2-4 seasons down the road.

What do people think about Camera? He is a secondary prospect from Boston who is a tough to play against type.

Losing Iginla will be a marketing blow, no matter how he leaves. He's been the face of the franchise for a lot of years. The best way to get the fans back is to build a winning team. If the best offer on the table at the deadline is a late first round pick, they need to take it, period. If they turn it down, because they think it will make them look bad, then we have no hope.

Iginla is irreplaceable to the fans I'd say; it will be a long time before we forget him. But honestly, this team is losing with or without him. I'd say draft the best player you possibly can (think Jones or Mackinnon), and hope he fills that void sooner rather than later. I think the fans accept that.
