Kipper won't agree to be traded
Kypreos just said that Kipper won't report to any team other than Calgary.

Are we even sure what his NMC is at this point? It was a full NMC up until 2011-2012, that's past. I thought he was fair game at the very least this summer.
Edit: Oh, he's just saying that he wont report after a trade. Not a fan of that, but that's what Sutter risked when they added on that extra retirement year.

Doesn't surprise me and I ain't even mad. His kids live here, he just had a kid a week ago (I assume in Calgary??)
Plus he has a year left making peasant money, not surprising at all.
With that said Kypreos is a goof, though some times has legit info.

Makes sense. With his wife having just had a baby, he would need/want to be around more often. An entirely different story during the off season since it is easier to move his family when he isn't jetting around from game to game.

If that is out there and true, we will never be able to trade him, no team wants a no show.

Still opens doors for a new goaltender to come in. I assume Kipper is near done his career and is just waiting out the end of his contract.
Let him play 1B duties behind Bernier or Khudobin.

I don't like this one bit. His NTC expired but he'd not honour his contract? I thought there would be a good chance he'd be moved, especially to the leafs. If he did openly say that he wouldn't honour his contract to accept a trade than I'd cut him.
I know people are going to say how much we owe him or how crappy we'd be if we didn't have him but open your eyes.... We're almost dead last in the league. We are crap. If he doesnt' play another game for the Flames, they sink lower and get a good pick. If he does play more and wins us games, we get another 10-14 pick with no playoffs and nothing to show for it. If he accepts a trade, we get assets, a higher draft pick and he gets a shot at a cup (or at least the playoffs).
IF this is true, I lost a lot of respect for Kipper.

If this is true, I will be one peed off Flames fan and will not be cheering for Kipper any longer. There's like a month left in the season + playoffs. He never would have gotten a shot at being a #1 and earn the many millions of dollars that he did without the Flames, and his NTC has expired.
Honor the contract you've signed, suck it up and shut your mouth, play somewhere else for a few months and then you can retire if you want.

Yup i'm happy that Kipper will retire a Flame too.
Realistically, they weren't going to get much, so better to give him a farewell tour with the fans who adore him.

Kipper doesn't have a NMC. If this is true it is dirty pool. The man is a multi millionaire off of the Calgary fans money. If he had a NMC then fine. But saying you will refuse to report is BS.
Not sure if it is true. But if it is then shame on him.

Trade him to the Islanders for a 2nd. They love big cap hits that don't report and they don't have to pay.

How is it dirty pool? He has every right to retire if he wants to.
He only wants to play for Calgary - he has said or inferred that a few times over the years.
