Trade deadline looming, let's get some predictions going, see if anybody can bulls eye a trade.
1. Who's getting dealt?
2. What team are they getting dealt to?
3. What's the return?
UFA's
F - Jarome Iginla
F - Blake Comeau
F - Roman Cervenka
F - Steve Begin
F - Brian McGrattan
D - Anton Babchuk
G - Joey MacDonald
RFA's
F - Mikael Backlund
D - TJ Brodie
D - Chris Butler
Under Contract
F - Alex Tanguay
F - Mike Cammalleri
F - Jiri Hudler
F - Curtis Glencross
F - Lee Stempniak
F - Matt Stajan
F - Tim Jackman
D - Jay Bouwmeester
D - Mark Giordano
D - Dennis Wideman
D - Cory Sarich
D - Derek Smith
G - Mikka Kiprusoff
Mine:
#1 - Steve Begin to Montreal for a 2013 6th Round Pick
#2 - Anton Babchuk to Carolina for a Conditional 2013 5th or 6th Round Pick
#3 - Cory Sarich to Anaheim for a Two 3rd Round Picks (2013 and 2014)
#4 - Jarome Iginla and Derek Smith to Boston for Ryan Spooner, Rich Peverley, Tommy Cross and a 2013 1st Round Pick
I think Tanguay, Cammalleri and Bouwmeester get shopped hard at the draft, and during the summer.
So many I want, but my prediction is Feaster telling the media after trade deadline comes and goes without making a single move that we are only X points out of the playoffs and that we needed time to gel and learn a new system so he resigned Iggy to a 5 year, $30 million deal as he is our heart and soul, and that the answers are in the dressing room.

I like your #4 but i think Butler will replace Smith.
I agree with your Tangs, Cammi, and Bouw theory. They are going to want player for player trades for those guys.
Don't agree with #2 or #3. Anton will get the flames a big fat 0. Sarich will be lucky to get a 7th considering his contract is for another year at $2 million.
Jackman gets a 6th
Comeau gets a 4th or is re-signed.

Give Jay some credit here - he never repeats himself even with all the crap he spews out. There's no way he goes with "the answers are in the room" again. He'll just come up with another excuse or buzz word to try and distract the masses.

Well, that didn't take long.

iggy to bos for subban, mcniel and a 1st
kipper and gio to the leafs for colbourne, and gardiner
bouwmeester to LA for toffoli and a 2nd
stempniak to the jets for tangaridi
I think the Bruins will get Iginla as well but probably not for that good of a package.
I'm worried the Flames will not demand a C as part of the deal. Something like Craig Cunningham, Tommy Cross and a 1st for Iginla.
I'm also worried they'll do something like take a slightly older roster player for a package: Iginla, Gaudreau for Marchand. Which would be an OK deal for Calgary but not really what they should be doing.
Blake Comeau will probably find a home for a mid to late draft pick. I'll say a 5th from San Jose.
Babchuk might find a home for a 7th. I'll say New York Rangers.
Doubt Calgary deals Cervenka. Better to see how he plays down the stretch then try to get a late round pick out of a team.

I don't understand why Anton wouldn't bring something. He hasn't been given a chance.

Just curious why you think the Canucks need Begin? If he's been useless to the Flames I'm not sure why the Canucks would give up an asset for him.
