Except when they came back for Merle they have to cut the lock/chain off the door to get up there.

Merle didn't simply get beat up by the Governor.
He first got distracted by that zombie, and then two of the Governor's men grabbed and beat/kicked the bejeesus out of him before the governor took his turn.

pretty much, the only thing they didn't do to old Merle was drag him around behind their truck and fire shot guns in the air.
I like how Merle used the most of his Zombie stampede tactic while he could.
The metal track playing in the car was a nice touch also.
I got a good laugh when Merle taunted the Zombie with a drink of whiskey through the window.

It struck me listening to the Merle actually having music on in his car that they almost never play music, even quietly, that we see. Really the most music they seem to have in the ZA is Beth singing every once in a while.
It might just be me but I think I'd be finding cars just to listen to some kind of music/charge an ipod at this point...I'd be missing music like crazy 12 - 18 mos into the ZA with no widespread electricity available.

I'm thinking it could be Maggie.
Last episode they focused heavily on her relationship with Glenn, even had her proposed to. And her death impacts the group on a personal level the most simply because of Glenn, Hershel and Beth. Would allow Glenn to become even darker, cause strife between him and Rick if he blames him at all and could push Beth into more of the forefront instead of such a background character ("Maggie's sister") going forward.

I'm thinking Hershel, Andrea, Beth and Judith die. Tyreese and his sister then join the group.

This is what I was thinking too. They went out of their way to have Glenn propose to Maggie, and mentioned specifically about even if it was just for a week.
Rick also asked Herschel if he was willing to put his daughters at risk by going to war instead of giving up Michonne a couple of episodes ago.
Both could be a little bit of foreshadowing to Maggie's death. Its also quite possible that multiple people die next episode.

Herschel is as good as gone. He's going to be following the group, and is too slow / injured to keep up, so he's going to wait in the shadows with a shotgun and off a few of the Governor's men (but not before a dramatic scene with his daughters and telling Maggie he approves of the marriage). Then as the rest of the group retreats, he gets gravely injured from a bullet to the back, at which point the Governor is going to tell him that "he did pretty good for an old cripple". Then he'll just shoot Herschel in the head.
All speculation of course, but I would peg Herschel's death probability at 95%.

I also expect Milton to be killed off as well. His story arc is primed and ready for it.

I'm trying to decide is there's any character they could possibly off that would keep me from watching the show, and I'm not sure there are anything. I realize Darryl's a fan favourite, but even if he were to die, I would keep watching. I think the only person who may be truly safe is Rick because to kill him off would require them to stray much too far from the source material.
That being said I don't think Darryl or Glenn die because I'm thinking the creators just don't want to take that chance. Everyone else is up for grabs.

I expect Milton to die freeing Andrea, as he's the only one who knows about the torture chamber.

I have a theory on this, but it's based off comic stuff so I'm not sure if I should say it?

Merle leading the zombies in his car bugged me. Can you imagine how long it would have taken to lead those walkers to the meeting place? Drive 20 feet, then wait 5 minutes for the undead to catch up. Drive 20 feet, wait 5 more minutes. Drive. Wait. Ugh. Guess it gives you a lot of time to finish your whiskey.
Not to mention the fact that Merle had the stereo cranked you would think the Governor's men would have heard a commotion long before the walkers showed up on the scene.

I would appreciate if you err on the side of caution and not post it. I believe there's another thread around that allows comic book spoilers/comparison.
And thanks for asking instead of just posting it.

Well since I can't talk about that how about I change the conversation...Who is going to be the one to kill the Governor? I'm going to go off the board and pick Milton or Martinez.
