Brodie also spent more time under Playfair anyways.

Would Bouma count? I know he's no offensive dynamo, but I thought he was slated for the big team this year, but was injured before the lockout ended.

Baertschi set up Horak for a breakaway in OT to win the game.

Also put a goal in himself. 1G, 1A for tonight.

Awesome. Hopefully they both get called up post-deadline to finish out the season. Would be nice to at least have a bit of excitement back in the lineup for a few games.

Highlights from the win. Baertschi with a solid goal, but what a great play for the OT winner. Tipping the puck ahead and a good feed over to Horak. Great finish.

Karlsson gets lit up and reminds me of the over weight kid who would always play in net when I was a kid. Just looked lost after every shot and goal.

He was never an NHL quality goalie.

And good to see Horak and Baertschi having chemistry. It's too bad we need 2 useless plugs on the Flames instead of these two, but I guess it's a blessing they're not part of this cancer of a team right now.

Agreed. Karlsson isn't NHL material. He's a big guy that makes himself too small by going down early on shots. Teams were going upstairs on him all the time by the end of his time with the Flames.

Boy the Heat don't have much of a fan-base down there do they? Empty seats far outnumber the occupied ones. Canucks town not a hockey town but it was always questionable how well a Canucks rival would fare playing in the Canucks back yard.

If Iggy does get moved I wonder if we'll see Sven back in the bigs for the rest of the season?

If Sempniak is moved as well we could see a few players from the Heat promoted.

Hard to see why not since that would be the symbolic we give up and time for prospects to get time.

At that point put him with Cerevenka and Mcgratton.

Gives him the supposed "skill" to play with and McGratton there to ensure he doesn't get crushed.

Yup Karlsson looks brutal there

My prediction, the younger teams gets Calgary to within 2 pts of the playoffs. Amazing what a team of coachable young guys can accomplish with an upbeat coach like Hartley.

Not sure what it is but Baertschi just seems to produce when paired with Nemisz.

I know most are ready to write him off but with Nemisz transition to center I still think he can be a responsible 3rd line center in the NHL.

He just does all the little things right to help make room for his teammates on the ice.

How's Nemisz doing lately?

He was well on his way to being an NHL'er this year, looked very good in Calgary to finish the season but was injured and was a total non-factor when he came back.
