LA - Johnathan Bernier (G), Tyler Toffoli (RW) and 2014 1st round pick
PIT - Derek Pouliot (D), Beau Bennett (RW) and 2013 1st round pick
CHI - Teuvo Teravainen (C), Brandon Saad (C) and 2013 2nd round pick
BOS - Seth Griffith (RW), Alexander Khokhlachev (C) and 2013 1st round pick
I've bolded my preference.

Lost in the desire for Tyler Toffoli is a very solid RW prospect in Linden Vey, who is probably easier to pry away from the Kings. Also, Kings have too many defensemen, there could easily be a defensive prospect thrown in the deal or even a roster defenseman like Alec Martinez.

Trading Iginla doesn't guarantee us a winning team. Keeping him doesn't mean we will continue to miss the playoffs for the rest of his career. And, as I posted elsewhere, seeing Nilsson win a Cup with the Oilers brought me no joy.
Those of you who want Iginla traded and/or constantly bash the Flames ownership group disgust me.

By year three, you start to see the big picture, next thing you know playoffs are back within reach. I much more enjoyed the first two years of rebuilding, despite miserable losses, while the Kings did it rather than watching low level or washed up NHLers coming in and keeping them in 10th place. (Sound familiar?)
I'm looking forward to the same thing with the Flames. Edmonton is doing it wrong , they are not drafting intelligently and didn't grab the right veterans to mentor their kids. That is a terrible example of a rebuild. The Flames do it right and they'll still be in a playoff spot before the Oilers. Rebuilding isn't as bad as some people think it is.
|
When you put it that way I can see where you are coming from. If it happens I hope and pray there is a plan in place as a long extended rebuild would be tough to bear.

Feaster is doing a pretty good job of not panicking right now. Whatever deal is on the table for Iginla right now is still likely to be there on deadline day. It's better to let teams like Boston and L.A. keep salivating over Iginla and if they lose a couple this week, then maybe they'll give up exactly what Feaster is asking for.
Honestly, we don't have much too lose by prolonging this until April 3rd.

He has to walk a fine line. There are a lot of other impact forwards on the market that we aren't hearing much about because Iginla is taking up all the airwaves. If Feaster waits too long, the teams Iginla is allegedly okay going to will bring in the Jagr's and so forth for much lower prices than Iginla and the market will have evaporated.

I have to question this "list", not saying Iggy isn't be shopped but why would the flames leak the list? and a blind monkey with itchy balls could come up with those four teams.
Kent Wilson - blogger from his mommas basement
Darren Dreger - 1000 rumors a year,2 or 3 right (I have better odds
Ren Lavoie - a french Dreger
Basically the french guy posted it and every swinging dick with a blackberry re posted it.
I made a call to someone who would know a lot faster than these guys,I was told "don't be so gullible" if there's a list, only Iggy, his wife and top management know about it,to leak it would be disastrous for the return.

The crazy thing is Iginla and the Flames might have no intention of parting ways, we simply don't know. Feaster was very adamant in the past that Iginla is not going anywhere. Sure things change, but until we have at least some indication from a reliable source or sources that Iginla is indeed being shopped, I'm going to assume he is not going anywhere.

well I called a source but couldn't get a good connection because he was in his basement.....
At this point it's all speculation but it's all we have since even though the Flames won, we're still a bottom feeder team.
It's fun to imagine who we could get or what we should get because this is a discussion board and so we're discussing the possible list and possible returns.

What we do know is that we are a week away from the trade deadline and there still isn't a contract extension. In the past Iginla extensions were done quickly. Both sides clearly don't like this as a distraction.
It doesn't take Dick Tracy to figure out that at least one of the sides is considering their options.

Why not end the rumours and say he is going to resign. All this attention given to Iginla and possible trading partners has to be a distraction for the rest of the team.

Yeah, waiting until he retired to start would be much faster.

Had the Flames done a better job of drafting players Iginla possibly leaving wouldn't be a discussion. Sakic retired as an Avs player.
