I do t think Iginla is getting Seguin/Hamilton but Boston isn't getting him for their garbage either.

If you don't like it and want to keep your hopes up for Seguin + Hamilton + 1st round pick + Subban be my guest. I'm just letting you know what the feeling is from Boston regarding certain players.
I'm also a Flames fan and hope whatever happens gets Calgary back in the playoffs and in contention sooner than later. This city is a better place to live in when the Flames are winning.
Cheers

Where has anyone suggested Seguin, Hamilton, Subban and a first?
Just because you've been a Bruins fan for 30 years your opinions don't have to be so "matter of fact"

Secondly, while its interesting to hear from other fan bases, you're simply stating your opinion as a Bruins fan, not Boston like you state. The weight I give that opinion isn't great, but it is nice to have a counterpoint to Flames' fans opinions.

Definitely hyperbole. But where did I say I (as a fan) am looking for a quality acquisition? Personally I'd rather the Bruins not get Iggy. No offence to anyone here who loves the guy.
And you're right, I'm only stating my opinion. Sorry if that came across as anything but.

No where. But those players in different combinations have been mentioned here and on other sites. And if you're going to dream, dream big right? It was tongue in cheek.
Sorry my opinions have come across the way they have. I don't post very often, but like most of you passionate Flames fans, I'm passionate about my Bruins.

That's fine but you don't need to be a dick about it. Cut out the hyperbole, it's a horrible way to prove a point and totally takes away from any point you've been trying to make.

If the Flames wanted Seguin they would probably have to trade Iginla and a first to get him. That might not even do it.
With respect to Brenden Morrow, that's a very good move by Dallas. A ballsy one considering the Stars are currently in 8th in the Western Conference. Sometimes it's better to make a move for the future and Calgary could learn from that.

I have to agree with the Boston fan that Dougie Hamilton is going nowhere. It would be worse than if the Flames were in the running and traded Sven for a rental.

I would be shocked if Iginla was able to bring back a Hamilton type prospect - I can't think of the last time that an elite level prospect such as Hamilton was traded, even on trade deadline day when the trades are at their stupidest. Usually a rental player such as Iginla brings back a package of a late first round pick and an average prospect. I hope that the Flames are able to get a quality return but I think that the odds are that it is going to be a package similar to the return that Kovalchuk netted the Thrashers.

On a side note, Joe Morrow and Brendan Morrow are both former Portland Winterhawks.

Khokhlachev and a first would do. I would not complain.
I tell you , weirder and stranger things have happened than Dougie Hamilton being involved in a trade for Iggy. Stupid things happen and I am not saying it will but you never know.

Hamilton talk is nonsense. Kid is likley a Calder candidate...teams don't move those types of players for ufa rentals. If Hamilton was still lighting up junior them maybe you could hold out hope (even then I don't see it) but he is playing 17 minutes a night, in all situations. Not a chance Boston is moving him without getting someone with similar youth and upside back.

I think if Dougie Hamilton gets traded, Chiarelli would get fired. Almost simultaneously.
6'5 200 lbs 19 year old rookie taking a regular shift on defense for a stanley cup contending team.
It would be the best tasting crow I've ever eaten though if it happened.

@HackswithHaggs: Per a source, Bruins offer that lost out to Pens for Brenden Morrow was Alex Khokhlachev & 2nd round pick http://t.co/amJ5skevUq #BruinsTalk

that link mentions the bruins might target glencross.
I wonder which player has the higher value to Boston, iginla or Glencross?

If I was Boston I wouldn't do Hamilton for Iginla straight up.
Can't imagine the Bruins would give him up. No way in hell.

If the Bruins end up with Iginla I think it's fair to say it's because they couldn't land Curtis Glencross.

Obviously Boston isn't going to give up Hamilton, I don't know why people are still talking about it.
But a return like 2013 & 2014 1sts and Spooner shouldn't be out of the question now.
I also still think Pittsburgh is going to go after Iginla. Morrow and Iginla do not play the same role. Morrow is a bottom 6 player. If the rumours are true, Iginla just submitted his list today.
Lots of time left.

I think if the flames want multiple high value parts for Iginla (1st, Top prospect, player) they will have to add value.
I don't think its out of the question that we get a decent return, but to make it happen we will probably have to add mid draft picks or an average prospect.
