He'll always be associated with this, just like Coates with nieuwy and iginla.

Well, I was disappointed when the final trade was announced. There definitely seemed to be 'more' to this trade, and it was a 3rd and a 5th to it.
I was hoping for a 1st from Dallas was going to Pittsburgh, and that Pittsburgh would be flipping Calgary 2 firsts + something for Iginla.

Man, I really hope so. But I just can't see both those names going to the same team. Kind of ruins the big splash for both players doesn't it?

Not a chance Pittsburgh guts the prospect base and more picks to get Jarome. They made the move for a 3rd liner a steep price. They need these young cheap players going forward because of how top heavy they are.

Man why do some of you feel Iggy is still worth a fist or even two firsts?

3rd liner?
They are playing Matt Cooke and Pascal Dupuis in their top 6 Morrow Is a nice upgrade and will fit perfectly into that team.

Because he is. Not two first but he is worth a 1st as a starting point of any deal.

As it pertains to Pitts and Boston, their 1st is essentially almost a 2nd.
So that should be a good start for you as to the thought process around here...

Nieuwendyk was in contract limbo and was holding out at that time. It's a totally different scenario. Plus Nieuwendyk was a lot younger, he was like 27-28 years old so he still had a lot of serviceable years.

It stands to reason that this was the offer made for Iginla and Feaster didn't like it. He must think there are better offers on the table, but whatever we get will be measured against this one.
Personally, I don't see Joe Morrow as a very exciting prospect.

Iggy to Boston for 1st rd, Alex Khokhlachev, and Tommy Cross. Come on Feaster, make it happen.

Nice trade by Dallas. Definitely sets the price for Iggy, but I would have liked to see him playing with Crosby. Fleury will probably collapse in the playoffs anyways, so Boston is probably the better chance for Iggy. Don't want him to go to LAK, because aren't they in our division next season (assuming he re-signs there)?

Paul Gaustad got buffalo a first round pick. I kind of rank iginla a little higher than him.

How is that "reason?"
If you don't want to pay 40 bucks for a nice steak dinner because your budget is only 30 dollars, you're not going to be offering 30 bucks for a hamburger.

Huh? It is very reasonable to think Pittsburgh offered a package involving Morrow for Iginla but found out the price was too high so made the offer for Morrow. You would have to think they knocked on the door to determine price.
