I wonder if the Flames traded down at #14 because Derrick Pouliot went to the Penguins at #8.

True, however big difference between Hamilton/Seguin and Morrow IMO.

Agreed. Seguin isn't part of the conversation. He is a better player today. Hamilton is possible I guess. But incredibly unlikely.

Teams will not be subtracting integral pieces off the roster to acquire. Joe morrow was in the AHL.

Expecting a top roster player back is unrealistic, unless its a plugger for salary reasons.

Completely true on Seguin.

Hamilton is in the "unlikely, but possible" pile for me, even with Morrow being moved.

I would trade Iggy, Sven and Brodie for Seguin

With Pittsburgh acquiring Morrow I don't think they will want to go for Iggy. Roster spot, cap space and a spot on the wing as well. My bet is either Boston or Chicago. LA seems to stuck up to have an "old geezer" on their team.

Chicago makes no sense, Boston maybe but to me LA is the likeliest option. I'd also throw a wild card as Anaheim. With what they just signed Perry and Getzlaf for, Bobby Ryan for Iginla straight up makes a lot of sense for both.

He's given Calgary a list of 4 teams (CHI, BOS, PIT and LA). There's no point in talking to any others.

Imo the Iggy trade to Boston will involve Gaudreau there will be more coming back.

Two prospects, a roster player and a 1st and a conditional pick if Iggy signs.

Not sure how that makes sense for Anaheim at all.

God I really really hope not. I think Gaudreau is going to be this teams next franchise player.

They need to clear more space in the future, and Iginla is at least the equivalent player as Ryan, so you clear space long term and still have as good a player to make the run this year. Plus I just like the idea of a Perry-Getzlaf-Iginla line.

@SUNGilbertson: For what it's worth, the Boston Bruins are slated to have a scout in attendance at #Flames-Blues game.

Absolutely no to Gaurdreau being traded unless they are prepared to give us Hamilton in the trade.
