Seriously? I'm not sure he was the best defender on his own team last season. Portland was/is stacked.

I thought he was the best defender on that team.

Boom!

They won;t need another winger. They will need a d-man. If this rumour is true you can take Pitt off the list of teams that Iggy will go to.
Feaster is in a tough spot. Needs to get as much value as he can but at the same time can't wait to long considering Iggy's list is not that big.

I guess the Penguins are making up for the James Neal trade. Funny how nobody in Pittsburgh wanted to put Joe Morrow in a deal for Iggy.

Now if the return for Iginla doesn't net a prospect as good as Morrow, I'll laugh, and by laugh, I mean cry, and by cry, I mean go into a deep depression.

With their depth and how close they are to winning it cold be a great trade.
Is Joe that much better than Depres, Maata, Harrington?
And how long do you have a healthy, prime Crosby/Malkin?
Good deal for both teams and good to see teams not f'ing around hold on to maybes when they have a chance to win.

TSN is reporting that it's Brendan Morrow for "a package" from Pitt, that includes Joe Morrow.

Not only giving up their top D prospect, but more.... for Brendan Morrow? Are Pittsburgh high?

Scary to think if Morrow is worth that on the market at the moment, how much Iggy will fetch considering in every way Iggy > Morrow.

Penguins also have D - Brian Dumoulin in their ranks now, acquired him along with Sutter in the Staal deal.
He could be a piece the Flames may target, big talented all round D-man and former team mate of Johnny Hockey, and Billy Arnold at BC.

Joe is a high end defense prospect that's improved a lot since being drafted. I am confused as to why they would deal for a washed up Brendan Morrow. They could've honestly gotten someone better like a Ryder or Stafford.

So Dallas is in a playoff spot right now ( barely hanging onto 8th) and they make the wise decision for the future of the club. The flames in the past have been out of the playoff picture and not done whats right for the future. It's quite sad.

I think many posters are severely underappreciative of what a player like morrow brings to a team like the pens.
This is like their move to acquire Gary Roberts. Morrow could be too much man in the playoffs for the pens.

Morrow's best days are behind him but he's a gritty player with some skill and you can never have too many of those for a playoff drive.
