This is kind of sick to admit, but part of me hoped the Flames would dredge up Nylander from the depths and give him back #92 a couple seasons ago. Begin was a hilarious signing as well.

Where's Trefilov at these days?

They why not just say that, instead of dragging up a highly mocked phrase. And rightly so.

Meh. They can give us a 2-for-1 sale on canned responses for all I care.

I just want to see some action by the management in addressing the elephant in the room (pun not intended) before the end of the trade deadline.

Well first it's a tweet, to assume one meaning over another without the context of the interview is just picking what one wants to hear (which is rampant now anyway).

Second, every hockey phrase is highly mocked at one point or another, I doubt he knows or cares how much it is mocked.. that you think he SHOULD know is in itself mock-able IMO.

And even if he did know it was highly mocked, who cares? I mean how many times can a person post what amounts to "My team isn't as good as I want them to be, that makes me unhappy!!!!!!"?

I don't, I would much rather things happen in the off season (except for pending UFAs I guess).. unless GMs are overpaying, the trade deadline doesn't seem like a good time to try and revamp your team. Especially if part of that revamping involves management; you don't want a guy you're planning on firing making deals.

LOL!

It's a tweet from the freakin' official organization twitter feed.

They aren't compelled to tweet anything and that's what they choose to run with?

It's still a quote from the coach, and unless the coach was talking only to the guy who types stuff into the twitter account then it's just one sentence of many, people don't usually walk around talking in 140 character phrases.

EDIT: And again, the idea that ANYONE would care how phrases are used by people to work themselves into a froth on a forum is funny. We need a sports fan problems meme.

Yeah that must be it, "someone doesn't agree with me so they must be ignorant".

Man people are looking to pile on about anything. Hartley often uses cliches and likely had no idea that some particularly cranky fans would overreact

It's not Hartley.

It's exactly what photon said, Hartley obviously didn't say one line and then take off and leave.

It's from the Flames official twitter.

Well it is probably up to one person what they tweet out. I just don't get the outrage

I am pretty cranky and I do realize it's not Hartley's fault he only controls the room.

Just sucks watching this team. I think the loss has made everyone over react.

What are they going to tweet next? "Fool me once."?

I'm not outraged here. It is comical now. It was frustrating in 2010. Like I said above, not even at my most sarcastic would I have ever thought that would actually come out of the flames organization roughly a year to the day since the last time they boldly proclaimed the same load of garbage.

It is, literally, a joke now.

But isn't the loss what most want? They are not making the plaids and clearly need to be dragged kicking and screaming into changes
