Pittsburgh hired Bylsma at close to the halfway point of the season and he won a cup.
LA hired Darryl Sutter 3 months into the season and he won the cup.
Coaching won't matter at this point. I've already tried banging that drum for 3 seasons.
It's too late now.

Most of the league probably agrees. Hard to believe any playoff bound team would be interested in any of these heartless Flames at trade deadline, especially the so called leader #12.

I think what this team really needs is a bonafide #1 Center to play with Iggy.

As true as it is, the PBP announcers for the COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS have no right to be telling us who the laughing stock of the NHL is.

Things can change. We don't need to go overboard like this as a fan base.
So the Blue Jackets change their President and GM, and suddenly they are a better franchise than the Flames?

He's an Oilers fan. Go easy.

You make it sound like Hartley actually may actually have a clue. Backlund comes back quickly likely playing hurt and has to pay the price for a poor team effort last night. How did that help the team tonight? How does embarrassing Kipper help the team? This is what happens when your GM hires his best friend as head coach. Just ask the Leafs how that turned out.

The Jackets largest lead of the season.

Brodie has been a problem in the Flames dressing room for a longtime.
2005/2006 - Team could have won the Cup if not for the disruptive force that is Brodie
2006/2007 - Same, could have won back to back Cups if not for Brodie
2007/2008 - Same, could have won three in a row if not for Brodie
2008/2009 - Same, could have won four in a row if not for Brodie
2009/2010 - Same, could have won 5 Cups in a row but for Brodie.
Tough spot for a coach to be in when a 22 year old defenceman is far and away your second best defenceman on your entire team. If they move Bouw at the deadline he will be the best dman on the team. On a normal NHL team he would be a 4/5 dman and getting more sheltered time, on the Flames he is a shutdown dman who is doing a pretty good job.

Or the Flames before they even hired Hartley......
Fixed it a bit

Maybe I'm just frustrated with the state of things, but tonight might be the first time I'm even fed up with the colour commentating.

I'd like Iggy to just come out and say he wants to be traded. Someone in this org has to be a man. It won't be Feaster or KK.
Anyone that wants to stay here is suspect.

Oh it was just an honest question, as I know Montreal hired Therien this year, did the Flyers hire a new coach after they missed the playoffs?
Either way big changes are required. I do agree that a systems coach is required with a major overhaul to get rid of a lot of vets. You need character guys who will play as per the system.
