If given the chance at either Barkov or MacKinnon, who would CP rather have?

Either or for me. Leaning towards Barkov simply on size and age.

MacKinnon
Jones
Drouin
Barkov
Monahan
That's my order of preference. Tough choice between Jones and Mackinnon though.

I perfer Barkov.
He has size over Mackinnon and is playing against men already so is more nhl ready.
Though this is based on only watching either at the world jrs.

To me, I say forget NHL ready. A centre with size would be preferred, in addition to being a guaranteed franchise player. MacKinnon is the only player that fits that criteria for me. If I have the #1 overall, I'd take him. If I have another pick and MacKinnon's gone, it's much harder, but I'd probably go with Drouin then Jones.

Gosh, the way we're playing we might get the first and second pick out of simpathy!

Let's not forget that even if the Flames finish dead last, odds are heavily stacked against them picking 1st overall. Every team that misses the playoffs has a chance of picking 1st this year.
I would not hold my breath on Mackinnon. It's far from a guarantee.

That one day separating these two sure makes a massive difference.
I take Mackinnon for two reasons.
1. Nate is a much better skater
2. His compete level is through the rough. He is an incredibly tenacious player in all three zones.

Games before the deadline:
Blues @ Flames
Flames @ Blackhawks
Avalanche @ Flames(Blackhawks and Avs back to back)
Blue Jackets @ Flames
Flames @ Oilers
Oilers @ Flames (Deadline Day)
Can't see much winning here.

The team that finishes last only has a 25% chance of picking first.

I firmly believe they will occupy 30th all by themselves by the deadline.

No, the odds of the Flames picking first in a best case scenario are 25%, the odds of the Flames picking somewhere other than 1st (assuming they finish dead last) is 75%

How? There's a 75% chance the 30th team doesn't get the pick, no?

They have the BEST chance of picking first, hence; the odds are in their favour compared to the other teams in the league
