It's all about perception really. You think this new penalty is going to increase the health of the players? I highly doubt that it will. But the league can then say they tried to change the rules to promote safety and the players did not abide by them.

Why? If enforced it removes a play that quite obviously can lead to head injuries.

It's gonna be so damn funny when it rains on September 5th like it has the last few years in Baltimore and the Orioles are 35 games below .500.....

NFL says Ravens will open on road Sept. 5 Thursday night, exploring potential fan activities in Baltimore, potential pregame concert

Denver made the most sense before, though I can see Houston as possibility now that Reed has signed there.

Why don't they just move the game to Wednesday like last year? Baltimore isn't that Jewish is it? I guess it's either Denver or New England though, or maybe as a long shot Chicago.

Ted Johnson calls Vince Wilfork's wife ugly, Wilfork scares the living #### out of him back, and he apologizes.

Quote:
“You know what, I’ve got it,” Johnson said on CBS Houston when a caller asked him to identify the player with the least attractive wife (audio here). “And this is a big, big man. This guy had his way with the Texans this year. He won’t hear this — Vince Wilfork.”

The Bears have signed former Broncos LB DJ Williams.

Ravens got Dumervil, Canty and Spears for the price of Paul Kruger. That's why the Ravens are a good franchise and the Browns are not.

Seahawks finally have something go bad. Michael Bennett has a torn rotator cuff. At least its only a one year deal.

5 years $26 million, potential to make up to $35 million.

Man his agent really screwed him. I hate Baltimore with a passion, but it will be hard not to root for Dumervil. Very nice guy.

That's a filthy pass rush for the Ravens now. Wow.

Sizzle and Doom? Egad.

Darrius Heyward-Bey visiting Indy tonight and tomorrow. Out of all the FA wide receivers he's probably the one I'd like the most, killer speed and can play outside so T.Y. stays in the slot. I think he'll benefit from the lower expectations and not be expected to produce like a top 10 pick

So long as he is able to benefit from not catching the ball he should be fine.
