Can anyone recommend a silly app for my 1 year old to play with? Pay or free. Just something silly where he can touch the screen and sounds and stuff happen.

BTW, hat tip to Red-Mile_DJ for posting about Minimalistic Text in the Nexus thread.
I started playing with it and it is great. I'm still figuring out some stuff but I really like the options available.

Question for you guys who let your kids play on your phone - do you have a special profile or something set up so they can't inadvertently make phone calls or change settings, etc. or do you just throw caution to the wind?

For settings, I never get too concerned if he changes anything. Most of the time he is just moving icons around. I figure if he does something I don't know how to fix, I'll get to learn something new that day. I do turn airplane mode on, to stop any calls from being sent accidentally. I guess I could setup a profile just for him on it since I'm running 4.2.2, but that just seems like a lot of work.

Airplane mode seems to be a pretty safe thing to do. *note to self *

Yesterday, we received a company wide email from the 5 year old daughter of one of our staff.
Now to answer your question, my phone is a tool for me, it isn't a toy. Unless there is a extreme need for them to have something to play with, my phone isn't an option for them. They have my old iPod, Mrs Rathji's iPad and phone to use before they use mine.

Picked up a Nexus 7 and Asus Dock to play with. So far I really like it.
Quick question, and kind of a specific one. I am looking for a "Daydream" app that will allow me to show photos when docked. Now I have seen 2 choices.
1. The built in Daydream photo app will rotate the pictures every 3 seconds and I cannot change that interval
2. Downloaded Photoframe Live app. This seems to be perfect but it screws up the photos. I have 30 1200x800 photos but for some reason this app blows up the picture so you only see part of the picture as the photo. Even if I tell it to resize for 1200x800.
Anyone have a photo frame app that will work in Daydream mode, and can change the interval?

I've just started using Pocket Casts.
I don't have a lot of podcasts that I follow, but this one seems to work pretty well. A fair number of options, it seems to integrate into the latest Android design guidelines very well. It allows syncing between devices, but since only Android is v4.0 right now it is only between android devices.
Interesting blog article on why they updated their Android app to v4 before ios:
Quote:
Pocket Casts on Android has outsold the iOS version historically at about 5:1. That means for every 1 iOS version we’ve sold, 5 were sold on Android. The Android version also costs $1 more, so we’re making more per transaction as well. The reasons for this are a blog post on their own, but it’s a fact.

I've been a huge supported of PocketCasts and pumped their tires in several thread on this forum. Their updates are usually hilarious too if you read them.
The latest update was gorgeous.

Is PocketCasts much better than BeyondPod? I've just started using BeyondPod free version and it has been pretty good. I haven't played around with it much other than to listen to podcasts. Does PocketCasts do other stuff or is it the layout and whatever else that makes it better than other podcast apps? Thanks.

Nope.
Too many apps to pick from for reminders/quick notes/detailed formatting.
SNote, Google Keep, Evernote, Any.do...

Not yet. But Keep just came out and I'm sure they'll roll out some additions to it.
I like the reminder idea. Right now I use Google calendar for that.
