I did the workout today, but I'm not registered. My goal was to score 101 reps. I made it past the 2nd round of burpees (reps 70-100), but didn't have time to set up my bar for the 135# snatch.

I did get a couple of reps in after time was up, which is a new PR for me.

As for hot CrossFit ladies, knock yourself out: http://girlswhodocrossfit.tumblr.com/

Edit: I'm at CF Billings.

I made it past the 2nd round of burpees set up the bar for 135 and had over 5 minutes of trying to get the bar up over my head. Had to settle for a score of 100 and a tiebreaker score of 7:12.

I am at Crossfit 403.

How can something call itself a sport when one of the events is burpees?

If so I'm going to found the Jr. High Internationals.

-20 laps around the gym
-Beep test
-30 wall pushups
-10 crunches
-touch your toes

Hulk, I would think a guy your size would have a tough time with burpees?

Workout 13.2

10 minute AMRAP of:
5 Shoulder to overhead, 115 / 75 lbs
10 Deadlift, 115 / 75 lbs
15 Box jump, 24 / 20 inch

Looks like one that will be deceptively difficult. It initially seems like the weights are nothing major, but I have a feeling that the box jumps will sap my energy. Looking forward to Friday!

Ugh, a disappointing 126. As predicted, box jumps chewed up too much time. I was hoping for at least 5 rounds.

Is that actually what people who don't do crossfit think? Give it a shot if it's such a joke.

LOL

I'm a pretty fit guy. I work out anywhere from 4-6 days a week (sometimes more), I run a 20 minute 5k, sub 60 second 400 meter, and can easily swim a mile. I looooove to get my meathead on in the gym as well.

I started cross fit this week, and I have NEVER been this sore. My arms are actually swollen from pull ups, and I couldn't tie my shoes yesterday. That was from 3 classes. People who make fun of it should go try a class, because it's insane how difficult it is. The initial class is free at almost every gym in the city, so for anyone who thinks it's a joke, take 30 minutes from your day and hit one up. I was just as skeptical and thought it was nothing special until I was being outlifted by a 100lb woman because I was so severely gassed I could barely stand.

Anyway. I saw a guy hit 280 yesterday on the 13.2 and it was seriously impressive. I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head at one point.

I hit 122 I was hoping for 5 rounds also. 115 seems like more when theres a time limit. On the bright side my wife who has never attempted to clean 75 lbs was able to get one round in

13.3

12 minute AMRAP of:
150 Wall balls
90 Double-unders
30 Muscle-ups

Ideally, I'd like to score 240, as I'm nowhere near a muscle-up. Realistically, I'd just like to get to the rope.

I think getting to the rope is what I am going to go for. My double unders need work so even if I get there getting more than 10 will be a shock.

Oh, I'm sure it's hard and I wouldn't last 10 minutes.

But someone should never "compete" in anything involving burpees.

I used to have to do them in various practices, but I sure wouldn't ever encourage anyone to cheer me on doing it or brag to my buddies about how many burpees I could do.

Why? It's no different than any other exercise. How is doing x number of burpees different than doing x number of chin ups?

Is that soreness due to the workout or the emphasis on 'do as many reps regardless of how terrible your form is' mentality than some crossfit gyms have? I've considered crossfit but I'm not interested in injuring myself due to working with "trainers" who are completely unqualified. I'm not sure if those gyms are the minority or not, the culture seems to be all over the place.
