Just talked to Zach Boychuk waived by NSH this am. 3rd time this year. Amazingly good spirits. Expects to be claimed again he says. #airdrie

I'll never forget that stupid fan voting where Komisarek made the allstar team. How the mighty have fallen. He seemed to follow the trend of hard-hitting stay at home defenders who tail off quite quickly once they reach the wrong side of 30. Same thing happened to Regehr, Hannan, Hatcher, etc.

Doesn't Komisarek have a NMC? How does he get waived? Or does the rule allow him being waived but cannot get assigned to the Marlies?

Waived it so he could play somewhere (AHL likely)

He waived his NMC to make it happen. He was a healthy scratch all the time and gave up his clause to play somewhere, even if it means going to the AHL.

Not sure if that was intentional or a spelling mistake, but beat "done" was well said.

Makes sense, IIRC they can send him to the AHL, as they were the first tovwaive him. Their farm team has had some injuryx trouble

Yep but Bouchuks number should be pro rated for an 82 game season, so that would surpass Suitcase Skalde

I could be remembering wrong but I am fairly certain Fadden played center for 2 years and then King played center in his last year.

Maybe I am way off. I remember Fadden playing center or RW and I remember King playing LW.
I think I stopped going to games after Boychuk's last year. I only go to one or two now.

King played in the wing when Fadden was there but I think moved to center for the last year.
This is all off memory and 4-5 years ago but Boychuk definitely spent most if not all time on the wing with the Hurricanes.

Boychuk played some C during his last year. He is a winger and has spent his pro career as a winger

Boychuk on waivers...yet again.
@DarrenDreger: Rangers place Halpern, Caps place Crabb, Canes place Boychuk, Bolts place Lee on Waivers

I remember watching Boychuk play in juniors. I questioned his ability to score in the NHL, but he was one of those lightning quick players who had the ability to jump into a play and score before you even realized the puck was on his stick. He wasn't afraid to drive to the net as well.

First round pick has become the big red ball at a concert bouncing through the crowd.

Yah I watched a ton of Junior hockey in the 90's and 00's. Boychuk was a great Junior Player, but not nearly as impressive as some others who were never really able to to carve out NHL careers. I know the game changes over time but I always compared Boychuk to Byron Ritchie, who never made the WJC team, was a 5rd pick and considered an NHL long shot.
