You got Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Pick a day.

Would the NFL be allowed to move the game to a Friday or Saturday?
I remember hearing something at one time about broadcasting rights and interfering with College Football for airtime...or something similar to that. I remember hearing NFL was only permitted to air on Thursday and Sundays during the college regular season, that's why we only see NFL Saturday games in December once the college regular season is done.

The ugliness between the Pats and Welkers reps is hitting epic proportions...he said she said stuff and someone is outright lying...
Quote:
"Wes Welker, just to be very clear, was our first choice to be with the team," Kraft said. "When free agency came, and his agents kept on insisting on a very high number that was beyond our number, we had to go work alternatives."
"Specifically, both sides are clear that the Patriots made one offer to Wes Welker since the prior negotiations ended in July 2012," the statement read. "Both sides also agree that this two-year offer came just hours before the start of free agency despite discussions that began at the NFL combine. Moreover, this lone offer was presented as a 'take it or leave it offer.' When we asked if there was room for structural changes, we were told no. We made a counter offer for the same term and same maximum dollar amount as their offer and it was rejected. We inquired if any of the offer's components were negotiable and were told no. This refusal to actually negotiate made it easy to reject the Patriots offer. Nevertheless, when we received the Denver Broncos' offer, Wes personally talked to Mr. Kraft to give the Patriots the opportunity to match it. The Patriots rejected this opportunity and Wes signed with the Denver Broncos."
"If he had called one day earlier, he would have been with us," Kraft said. "I'm very sad about it and I wish he would have been with our team."
Welker's agency took exception to that version of events.
"Despite Mr. Kraft's impression to the contrary, the Patriots representatives who participated in these phone calls never indicated that the team 'would have even gone up' on their offer, or that these discussions occurred 'before we thought we were going into free agency,'" the statement read. "Instead, the Patriots made it abundantly clear that their one offer was non-negotiable. Athletes First has no issue with this approach and casts no blame on either side for a deal not being consummated. However, we believe it is important that the negotiations are accurately portrayed in the media."

^^^ I think Id buy Kraft's version before an agent whose salary is directly tied to that of his client.
“In Wes’ case, we were willing to go what we considered above his market value. For a couple years, we tried to get a long-term deal done with him. We couldn’t do a deal and we wound up franchising him at a very high number [$9.5 million]. In retrospect, I wish we could have wrapped that into an arrangement where it was part of a longer-term deal. But I really believe in this case, his agents misrepresented, in their mind, what his market value was. When you come right down to the bottom line, he accepted a deal in Denver which is less money than what we offered him. In fact, he has a one-year deal in Denver for $6 million. Our last offer, before we would have even gone up and before we thought we were going into free agency, was a $10 million offer with incentives that would have earned him another $6 million if he performed the way he had the previous two years. But in Denver, he’s going to count $4 million against the cap this coming year and $8 million the second year. There is no guarantee that he plays the second year there. He will get $6 million the first year. Our deal, he would have gotten $8 million the first year – our last offer to him.

Based on the Pats history hard to imagine that is them that are telling the truth.
Agents are scumbags for the most part but the Pats make the agents seem like angels.

^^ I think the Pats have always been fair to their players. I don't see where they have played games over salaries? They certainly let players go who they believe don't fit or might cost more than they are willing to pay, but most NFL teams do that.
The Pats also bring or have brought many players in who have been outcasts on many other teams.

I think they have shown that they are a scumbag organization that has no issue lying, cheating or showing any respect to anyone so they would have no issue to lying here to try and make Welker and his agent look like the bad guy.

^^ LOL...ok so the NFL in general?
Detroit Lions punished for cheating?
• Detroit will forfeit its seventh-round pick (acquired from the Denver Broncos) in the 2011 draft.
• Kansas City and Detroit will switch fifth-round picks in 2011 too. As a result, Kansas City now will have the ninth selection of the round and Detroit the 23rd selection.

That's a lot lower of an offer than I have read Reed is looking that the Texans gave him.
Texans offer to Ed Reed in the three-year, $4 million annual range, per league sources. Reed made $7.2 million last year. Seeking similar

Like the Colts signing of backup QB Matt Hasselbeck. Can provide some leadership to Luck. Colts also signed a NT today from the Chargers: A. Franklin.

Why did they update the logo? Were the Dolphins having problems selling merchandice? Personally I don't like it, however I'm old school when it comes to sports. I like tradition. Sure things can be tweaked or even changed (I liked the Buccaneers change, however the cream cicle uniforms are one of the coolest in history). But I didn't see a problem with the old logo myself.

I don't buy that UniWatch leak at all. It's an iron on, and a poor quality one at that. It also closely mirrors fan art that has been bouncing around for a while. The most convincing image was the picture of Hartline signing his deal on a table with a partial logo etched into it that differed from the current logo, but you could only see a small portion of it and from a poor angle.

Running back helmet rule passes, NFL becomes even more official driven. Cannot wait until someone has a 4th and Goal at the 1, punches it in, only to have the refs apply this judgement rule, cost the team the score and set them up with 4th and Goal at the 16.
Seriously, this rule is about one thing: Concussions. Moral of the story? Break your neck, break your back, break every bone in your body...just do not get a concussion.

Isn't the rule for outside the tackle box?

If they expect defenders not to do it then passing the rule for running backs makes sense. Doesn't make it any less silly, but it makes sense.
At least the tuck rule is gone
