Ryan Miller tells Kaleta to "grow up"
Heard this on the morning show, and just read the TSN article.
Quote:
"I'm pissed off. I want to play," Kaleta told the Buffalo News prior to Sunday's game. "And especially after watching some things, sitting there watching the game, I want to play. ...I guess they don't need me right now I guess."
"I've been pissed off watching for the past couple weeks. No matter if you're a fan, a player, you guys know what's going on. You should be pissed off. You should play with a little piss and vinegar. You shouldn't be happy. We're not in position we want to be in. We have to work harder, come in and do something about it."
When Miller was asked about Kaleta's statements after the game, the outspoken netminder didn't hold back.
"He's being dramatic," Miller told the Buffalo News. "We're not discussing what (Kaleta) says to you guys because that's just drama and he needs to just grow up.
"He had a stupid play in a game. He sat, he was punished. He has to get over it and move on."
|
I think its Miller that needs to grow up. Dude hasnt been playing for a couple weeks due to suspension and is pissed off he didnt dress when he could have...good. I want guys that want to play and are mad when they dont.
What the hell Miller is thinking his comments will do other than make things worse inside that room is beyond me. Dude really seems to have become a diva of late....a little to big for his britches if you will. If he is a "leader" on that team, saying anything like that publically is reprehensible....just a stupid thing to do.

I found it pretty easy Miller by a mile. He says he isn't going to talk about it to the media then proceeds to spout off to the media. If he'd said "We're not discussing what (Kaleta) says to you guys" and left it at that then Kaleta by a mile but he then goes on to keep talking.

Miller totally lost my respect after the incident he got run over, he came out as a total biatch, and also someone wen't through his crease once after he came back and Miller goes total bananas on him. Wow.

If you want to talk to Kaleta, do it in the room, not through the media. It's as simple as that. Kaleta shouldn't be spouting off, so if Miller wants to shut him up, talk to him in person, not through the media.

Sure but I don't want them holding press conferences about it. Miller saying stuff was stupid too, should have told him privately to keep his damn mouth shut. Miller's terrible at this though, generally.

Didn't Miller throw Darcy Reiger under the bus after he was let go too?

Neither of them should have said what they did to the media. Everybody knows Kaleta is obviously pissed, so don't rant to the media about it. And miller should have talked to Kaleta alone.

Miller has seriously become bizarre. His rants are embarrassing. The guy needs to learn to shut his mouth around media because he keeps coming off looking like a total a hole.

Reporter asked him a question at his stall...he answered. Sure he could have been a bit more diplomatic about it, but he was mad at not playing....i get that.
I don't, however, understand what Miller thought his comments would accomplish...in fact i would have thought that Kaletas words were ones that Miller wanted to hear...a teammate that wants to get out there and help a bad situation in the only way he can...instead he scolds the guy like a little kid caught stealing candy. Just bizarre leadership from a guy that has a whole lot to say about things at times and who is looked upon by most media and fans as the leader of that club.

Miller is completely unlikeable. You don't make public comments like this about teammates.

Miller sounds like a man that wants out of Buffalo and will probably get his wish.

I thought Boomer alluded to the fact that the reporter didn't provide the accurate quote to Miller. So it is kind of hard to pass judgement on this one.
But if Miller heard the comments accurately, then yes, he was acting dumb.
I personally didn't see anything out of line with Kaleta's comments. IIRC we heard similar comments from Sarich when he said it 'sucks' to be sitting out.

Miller is really turning himself in to the villain. He can't be making much friends with all his brash public comments.

Kaleta isn't the sharpest tool for sure, but all he was saying is that he wants to play. Just like all other players that get benched / scratched.
Miller just seems to be in a dark place where nothing is ever positive. Hopefully it's not concussion related, because his comments seemed to change tone after the Lucic incident. Or am I wrong?

hmmm come to think of it, Miller has never been the same since giving up that ultrasoft goal to Crosby at the Olympics.
