That's outstanding value for the yotes. Kid is only 22 and is already a clear #1. Another one of those swedes that just does everything well.

Man those Swedes have had some good defensemen develop in the last few years. Ekman-Larsson, Karlsson, Brodin, Hedman, etc.

That was one of the most useless holdouts ever. He lost the game of chicken.

Good deal for a very solid, unheralded, young defenseman. Just a good player with a good contract.

Karlsson, Ekman-Larsson, Brodin etc. Not gonna include Hedman, because guy is way overrated because of his size, he ain't that good.

With the league collectively owning them and the huge losses, figure we're probably on the hook for 500k-1mil of that money.
Nice that they're letting Phoenix spend everybody else's money to compete against them.

It's my biggest pet peeve when it comes to the Phoenix siutaion. Hate that other teams flip the bill. In the last year or 2 Phoenix has picked up some good players at the deadline ,while the teams fighting with them for a playoff spot had to pay some of the bill.

Short term I was OK with it as you want to preserve value but I don't even think I need to beat the dead horse about what a joke the whole lengthy saga has become. If the NHL had a history of refusing to move clubs it would make more sense but it just reeks of personal agenda by somebody with how long that situation has defied logic.

"Unheralded"? Dude was picked 6th overall only a few years ago. He's a stud.

I think unheralded is correct
he's still an unknown to a lot of people because of where he plays
if he was a Leaf he would be a demigod at this point

I'm frankly shocked that the NHL would approve of this signing, knowing full well that most teams that are on the selling block usually shed salary instead of taking them on big time. I can't imagine potential buyers of the Coyotes being too pleased about being on the hook for $33 million.
