Giordano was the obvious choice for years, but as he's having a rough year, it's convenient to brush that notion aside. I still think he'd make a terrific Captain.
That said, based on performance this year, I'm going to go with Stajan. Last few years I would have never said it, but after this season, he has absolutely transformed himself in my eyes.
14 points in 25 games, leads the team in +/-, takes the vast majority of faceoffs for his team, averaging just under 18 minutes per game. But more importantly, he's made all the guys he's played with this year, better for it.

If Iggy leaves and Cammy, Cammy becomes the no-brainer.

Eh?
I'm with Miniac. One to two years ago I said Giordano, but now...I don't think we have anyone worthy.

If Iggy leaves....no one. If we have to choose I would say probably Backlund, guy plays hard every shift but he's also made out of glass and lacks physicality. Other than that he is a solid choice I think, seems to command the play when he's on the ice and he seems pretty vocal.
You could argue Stajan plays hard every shift, which he does, but he isn't the talent that Backlund is.

If I had to pick a new captain today, the only one that comes to mind is Glencross. Not to suggest for a moment that he is ready and that he would make an excellent replacement, simply the most logical choice at this time. It would likely be a very temporary arrangement until someone new comes along.
I do like the idea of going captain-less until a true leader emerges.

I'm actually a fan of Brodie as the next captain... no basis for that really, just a gut feel of who'll be impacting this team most over then next decade from a leadership perspective.

Give it to Backlund if we go the youth route.

Probably Cammy. The way Brodie plays eventually he could be.

Give it to Brodie! He leads by example with his play on the ice.

My vote goes to Glencross. I think it's tough for anyone to show their true leadership abilities under the shadow of Iginla but I think Glencross would do the best job of the current pool.

Nobody that pouts that much should be a leader

he pouts because he hates losing...how about that fact that he out scores 5+ million dollar players with half the talent because he is willing to do whatever it takes

No One on this team is ready or worthy. Alt a's is the best option until then.

Hating losing is one thing, pouting is another. If the team is to follow it's leader, I don't wanna watch a team pout when it doesn't go their way

It's happened to this team in the past, fluery used to kick and scream and sulk, refs began to target the team more because of it.... It got ridiculously annoying
