Makes you wonder if....

A) We'll ever see him play 70+ Games in a Season
B) He'll ever be able to get over a 25pt. plateau.

No clue why this team is so short at Centre.

He's 23, he still has plenty of time to do both those things, which I think he'll do.

He was fine over in Europe then gets over to North America and gets hurt like every month.

Could probably just sticky a 'Backlund hurt' thread at the top of the fire and ice forum...

I'm not, he's super soft and more of a defensive labilty than his 8 points in 20 games is worth.

If this season was 82 games long and he continued this rate of injury (which would be tough to imagine), he'd be at 22 points in 38 games.

Seeing him over 25 points is very easy.

Dammit. Bad luck for him so far early in his career.

watched it again...

when he blocked the shot his right foot was turned sideways and it hit him right on the inside of the foot.

he took another shift and looked fine - had jump and a couple semi scoring chances.

that was the end of the game, no more shifts for his line

often when it's the foot, it seems ok until you take the skate off

A guy who should be a big part of the future, playing really well, at the thinnest pat of the roster, etc, etc.

Feel bad for him.

I hope he's shown enough his year to prove that he's part of the solution going forward. I feel he has, I hope Feaster and Co do too.

I laughed when somebody in the GT joked about an injury from blocking that shot.

My god. Backlund just has no luck.
