So I guess, while I haven't looked too much into all the bad things that the site has to offer, there is a ton of great stuff on there that keeps me coming back. It also helps that people are lazy and like to find everything in the same place. I am sure that each subreddit I read has a similar or better quality forum somewhere else on the net, but it is hard to find and maintain each individual account, and stumbling onto interesting stuff is so easy with the site.

Your question was answered on the first page multiple times, you just choose not to accept the answers, or belittle people for their answers.

You have also chosen not to answer pointed questions about support of the church etc.

Or they chose not to answer the whole question as it was proposed, which is what I call them to task over.

And this thread isn't about the church, or drugs, or whatever else you want to equate it to. It's about Reddit and it's management/policies.

You have still been answered, and refuse to accept the answer because it doesn't meet your moral code. But yes, we are all having fun laughing at how ridiculous this thread is.

Have you considered the thought that you are being baited over and over again, and THAT is what keeps this thread going?

Right, but as the OP it is very much right for us to question your intention here. Questioning why you condone some behaviour while condemning other is fair game as whether this is you actually bringing up a relevant issue, or whether you want to get on the soap box and denounce Reddit specifically. But I know, here comes the nothing answer as a reply, we get it. By not answer our return questions, all you're doing is encouraging people to go the Reddit just to piss you off, or troll you back, ensuring this thread gets locked, thus making this all pointless.

Admit it, you're just bored as #### at work and looking to stay entertained, right?

PsYcNeT, are you claiming that reddit currently condones the sharing of illegal content, or just that they don't do anything to prevent morally questionable content (for example, misogynistic posts)? I'm getting the impression that it's the latter, but I fail to see what's wrong with that.

I've only been on the site a handful of times when I've seen a link to an interesting AMA, but I've always gotten the impression that it's basically a meeting place for all sorts of people to get together to discuss their interests not unlinke an online version of a coffee shop. Should Starbucks have an employee sitting at each table to find out if people are being misogynistic or having immature conversations? As long as no one is talking so loudly that everyone else who didn't choose to sit at their table can't help but to hear them, I think the hands-off approach is appropriate. Unless I'm missing something, reddit's lack of censorship seems like a good thing.

I eagerly await the diagnosis of my logical fallacy.

Why do people still use the Internet? I mean, have you seen some of the stuff on there?

I had never been to reddit before this thread but I decided that I would see what all the hullabaloo was about - it seems like a quasi handy community of sorts, seems more like an area to swap recipes, funny stories and handy tips than child porn though. I guess there could be questionable content but if you didn't bring it up I wouldn't have known at all.

That's kinda the point of the thread. The admins do everything they can to keep that stuff quiet.

They don't do that good of a job, I heard most of the criticism from Reddit itself.

The problem is, you only notice if you read comments. The Knights Of /New generally downvote any dissenting articles to oblivion (or they are blocked/filtered like in Gawkers case).

As far as I can tell from this thread, many people here who like reddit seem to be using it for the knowledge and information contained there, which is usually from the discussion. So I think most of them are reading the comments.

Can you supply links to this illegal content that Reddit is hosting? Or is it not illegal just material you find morally reprehensible on a personal level?

Once illegal content is posted and someone is made aware of it it is taken down.
I think he is upset that they don't take it down faster.

That, and he's decided that things that are legal but against his particular moral code should also be taken down. Basically he's decided what's okay and anyone who crosses his imaginary line is morally bankrupt.
