This is exactly the player the Flames needed to make them a contender.

A big physical forward drafted in the 2nd round by Minnesota. He is 26 years old and has 28 NHL games. He recently passed through waivers. Odd that the Sens would give a pick for him now.

Why can't the Flames trade their junk players?

Isn't he the guy who trademarked "Kassassin" or something like that and was threatening to sue Zack Kassian for using it?

so if a no name guy is worth a 6th rounder, that sort of lays out the asking price for an iginla or a kipprosoff right?

Oh how I'd love to see a series of deals along the same lines from the Flames that results in a cache of draft picks.

Butler
Jackman
Begin
Comeau
Babchuk
Sarich
Jones

Yeah his lawyers were contacting Canucks based websites that were using the "Kassassin" trademark to refer to Zack Kassian.

Well if you cant make the big salary as a player might as well trademark a play on your own name and sue other people for using it to refer to a better player with the same name because thats the decent thing to do....

Do I need green text? lol

At least we don't have to deal with that caveman rumbling around the ice anymore.

I wonder if Murray approached Feaster about Junkman - would have undercut MIN and taken a 7th in 2014 to get that contract off the books and call up Aliu to fill that spot. Would have got down to 48 contracts. Hope this sets the market and Feaster unloads him before the deadline.

Doubtful. The east has a lot of enforcers this year, and Ottawa really needed one now. Probably a role that Jackman can't really fill. If Ottawa wants additional toughness in the lineup, then hopefully the come for Jackman, but Jackman is not going to be an answer to guys like Orr and McLaren.

Some players aren't worth anything until they pass through waivers because you want the player on your AHL team.

I like Kassian. Took the scratches and demotion like a man. But we don't need him. Konopka and Rupp provide ample fighting options already. For Fletcher to turn a guy who passed through waivers into even a 6th rounder is great.
