Well I mean they're already a great team, and I would have had them as one of the 3 or 4 favourites anyways, and Harvin is a perfect fit for them. They'll line in up all over the field, and Russell Wilson running zone read with Harvin and Lynch in the backfield is pretty scary.
And now that its being reported the Vikings may offer Mike Wallace $13 million a season, you really wonder where Rick Spielman's head is at. I'd rather keep Percy and his issues over the one route wonder.

I never realized what a diva Harvin is until reading all the stuff post trade.
Good luck with him Hawk fans....if he's happy it will turn out to be a good deal, if not it seems he is Terrell Owens like in his ability to destroy a team internally.
Quote:
It's just too bad that the most talented player at the Vikings' weakest position had to be such a screwball. But it's still going to hurt. Even if the Vikings now sign or draft a star playmaker, they merely will break even -- with luck. Harvin does so many things well that he is close to being irreplaceable.
It's considered a given that anybody who can't get along with coach Leslie Frazier must have some serious social issues. Harvin apparently falls into that category. Legendary cowboy Will Rogers, who once famously declared, "I never met a man I didn't like," probably wouldn't have liked Percy Harvin. And if the famous pacifist Gandhi were alive, he might take a poke at Harvin.

That the Vikings received an offer too good to pass up -- first- and seventh-round draft picks this season, plus a third-round pick in 2014 -- for a player whose volatile behavior had become an issue was confirmation to some players that general manager Rick Spielman made the right call.
One veteran starter told 1500ESPN.com on Monday the trade " is genius." Another said he's happy for Harvin but Spielman did "a great job" getting so much value for a player much of the league thought the Vikings were desperate to dump.
Harvin had demanded trades. He had clashed with coaches. He had complained about the offense and the quarterback. He once stormed out over a disagreement about medication.
He was, and is, one of the NFL's most dynamic players for 3 hours after Sunday. It's the other 165 hours a week the Vikings had begun to fear having a basket case on their hands.
Dressing down mild-mannered coach Leslie Frazier on the sideline in Seattle and again at the team facility weeks later was just the most overt signal Harvin had worn out his welcome and probably wanted out anyway

Harvin provided some thrilling moments and high-level production for four seasons. But he made life uncomfortable off the field and walked away from the team last season.
Not sure what to make of Harvin, I called a writer who covered him in college for an unvarnished opinion. He paused for a few seconds.
“With Percy,” he said, “it’s always something.”
Some Vikings fans will love the move, some will hate it. But this outcome seemed inevitable the moment Harvin disappeared from Winter Park this season. As his teammates came together for a common purpose to make the playoffs, Harvin retreated to Florida, unhappy with something or someone.
Harvin put the Vikings in a tough spot because he’s an elite player who wanted to be paid accordingly, but his wild mood swings and petulant behavior made it impossible to trust him. He once threw a weight at former coach Brad Childress during an argument and even sparred with a player-friendly and mild-mannered coach in Frazier.
Harvin stunned everyone — even coaches and teammates — when he showed up for voluntary workouts last spring, vowing to take a leadership role. He texted Frazier when he arrived in town, to which his coach replied, “Is this the real Percy Harvin?”
Harvin requested a trade three weeks later and then pretended it didn’t happen 24 hours after that. Eventually, that act becomes tiresome and is detrimental to the culture that Frazier is trying to create

With free agency opening in a couple hours...alll kinds of speculation going on.
Most interesting to me is a report the Broncos will sign Dwight Freeney and then cut Elvis Dumerville. Also said to be close to signing Rogers-Cromartie.
Also sounds as though the packers will let LBs Robert Francois and Frank Zombo test the market along with TE Tom Crabtree....dont like it at all but assume TT has something planned.
Bears chasing Phil Loadholt hard apparently. Vikings just cant let that happen IMO.
Charles Woodson to join Cullen Jenkins with the Giants a possibility.

Did I hear right that DeAngelo Hall was cut by the Redskins? Man, I'd love to see him back in a Falcons uniform, especially since we let Dunte Robinson go.

Do not want Rodgers-Cromartie. If they cut Dumervil and sign Freeney the money better be way different. Don't like that trade off at all.

Is every CB in the league a free agent? Jesus is that ever a buyers market out there for corner help.
And now for some laughs..
Quote:
It's a brilliant prank, and it never should've worked. How did a couple of 20-year-olds listen in on two NFL executives talking shop the day before free agency began? A little luck, great timing, and a 73-year old general manager who doesn't really understand how telephones work.
On Friday afternoon, Buffalo GM Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay GM Mark Dominik shot the #### for about six minutes. They talked about their impending free agents, their frustration with a new three-day negotiating window, and the major handicap of not having a franchise quarterback. They had no idea that a pair of pranksters had set the whole chat up, or that those pranksters were still on the line, listening in.

Unfortunetly for the pranksters, jail appears in their future. Can't exactly record conversations without consent.

Texans cut Kevin Walter. WR must almost certainly be addressed in the first two rounds of the upcoming draft now.
Although, with the potential to be losing our starting S Glover Quin, and starting OLB Connor Barwin, those positions are also big needs on draft day. The salary cap is becoming a pretty big problem in Houston (and elsewhere too looking at the number of cuts around the league).

Age and salary....he simply cant be counted on to play another year as a starter and he was slated to earn over 7 million. He will get picked up somewhere i would think as a guy to come in and play in dime situations.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Vikings cut Winfield to make a play for Revis. As of this moment apparently the Bucs are the front runners to land Revis though. Hopefully for not a ridiculous package.

Browns have apparently locked up Paul Kruger for $8-9 million a year. Overpayment to be sure, but it's the Browns, they have to overpay.

I still think Aso is a great player if he is on a defense that plays man to man more often. Philly's zone just wasn't playing to his strengths.

Mike Wallace apparently just arrived at the Dolphins offices...so he is likely off the market.
Edit...he is taking a physical right now and will sign immediately after.

with minutes to spare before the 4 p.m. ET opening of the market, the Vikings agreed to terms on multiyear deal with right tackle Phil Loadholt, according to Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com.
