BC plays 5 straight against Vermont. I assume its playoff time? College hockey formatting confuses me at times.

I think regional playoffs start now and if you win out your region you go to the final frozen four. So right now it's a 3 game series seed 2. vs 7. against vermont.

Quote:
Hockey East quarterfinal action in 2013 will again be a best-of-three format with the four highest seeds hosting series at their respective campus sites. As the regular season champion, the No. 1 seed will host No. 8.; No. 2 will host No. 7; No. 3 will host No. 6; and No. 4 will host No. 5.

Teams will be re-seeded after the quarterfinals, with the four winners advancing to the 29th Annual Hockey East Championship Tournament at the TD Garden in Boston. The annual tournament banquet will be held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on the evening of Thursday, March 21. Semifinalists will faceoff at the Garden on the evening of Friday, March 22, with the winners playing for the Lamoriello Trophy the following night, March 23.
The winner of the conference tournament receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division I Ice Hockey Championship Tournament.
Bettter detail from frozen four site.

Highlights of the game last night. Gaudreau's goal at 1:09 is incredible

BC and Vermont just finished the regular season with back to back games against each other. Now the playoffs are starting.

The Hockey East playoffs work like this:

Quarter-finals - Best of 3 series, the higher seed gets home ice in every game in their campus arena.
(1) UMass Lowell River Hawks vs. Maine Black Bears(8)
(2) Boston College Eagles vs Vermont Catamounts (7)
(3) Boston University Terriers vs Merrimack College Warriors (6)
(4) Providence College Friars vs New Hampshire Wildcats (5)
The 4 winning teams will be re-seeded and advance to the Hockey East Championship Tournament, which is a sudden death tourney.

The winner of the Tournament will earn an automatic spot in the NCAA tournament

This would be awesome. Colours are nice too. Would look really good walking around in the dome in a few years.

Gaudreau is smart enough to realize that he doesn't need to battle physically. He relies on quickness and smarts to win battles.

I don't know why Sven throws his weight around and tries to win battles physically, it makes no sense. He's just getting himself hurt and frustrated since he's losing all the battles. I've seen Sven this year try and make a big hit too often, that's not his game.

When you are skilled and quick like these two guys, use those skills to get the puck!

You have many useful and insightful ideologies. Do you have a newsletter I could subscribe to? I do wish you would tell me more.

I'm confused. Nasty merely expressed an opinion on an internet forum. Why gang up?

I would say taking a shot at (likely) the two top prospects the Flames have with the in depth analysis of they are too small isn't really going to go over that well and it likely shouldn't.

Comparing two guys that seem to have different games and certainly different sizes/physicality also seems pretty silly.

and furthermore who gives a crap, it wasn't a well reasoned take on gaudreau....so what? i'm not leaving disappointed in our prospect because of a harmless albeit fairly ignorant take.

Apologies if fata, just thought I'd try to get this thread back on topic
Good article about Gaudreau on most things up to this point..

"The undersized teenager - now up to 5-8 and 153 - has emerged as one of the elite players in college hockey, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi with blades and a stick, a kid you can’t take your eyes off because he might do something that will be all over You Tube by the morning"
