He's the best player on the Jets team, not sure what OP is talking about.
JK, I'm Olli Jokeinen

You aren't rebuilding if you're trading top 5 picks. No two ways about it.

Did I miss something, when did the Flames trade the top 5 pick, and when was the draft lottery done so they ended up in the top 5?

Jokinen was awful. Glad he took his crappy play out east. I thought he would feast again in the easy Se, but he's just not that good.

Ya, by virtue of the fact he is a natural center, isn't ultra butter soft, and can score a goal once and a while.
Him on our 2nd/3rd line would be massive improvement. Not for $4.5 mill tho. This is the same problem he had the first go round with us. He is a decent player, just way overpaid for what he brings.
Ollie at $2 mill would be a great deal for the flames.

Jokinen is bad. What he also is, is a centre. Calgary needs centres. NHL ones. Jokinen is that.

Winni needs some money put into the roster and with them moving to the east next year should help them out. Olli's heart is in Calgary and I wouldnt mind a 3rd stint in cow town he would be better then that Cervenka guy that has already been scratched a few times.

Point production wise... I'd rather have Jokinen over Cervenka right about now

The Tampa Bay lightning were rebuilding in 1999. On draft day they held the first overall pick again, like they had in 1998. They ended up trading out of the first round all together.
Things aren't as cut and dry as you wish to make it. Unless you're suggesting the Lightning weren't a rebuilding team when they were about to draft first overall again in 1999, or if the Oilers traded away a top pick like was rumored last year?

Nothing wrong with Jokinen. I have no idea how WPG is using him, but he is a shooter with very little hockey sense, but is a big body and has speed. Throw a playmaker and a net-front presence on the same line with him, and he will do well offensively. Expect him to carry a line or become a playmaker, and he will flop on his face.
The Jets can always try and trade for Glencross Jokinen never had chemistry with anyone else for that long on the Flames.

What the fark are you talking about, man?
Two gongshows making gongshow decisions?
I don't even know what your point is, but I know using two of the worst run franchises during their worst run periods in the league probably isn't a good starting point.

More then two ways to skin a cat, always. You have this black-and-white, cut-and-dry outlook and is being shaped by what the Flames are doing. Things aren't that simple, never are. Several ways to get to a goal. Tampa traded out of the first round because they didn't like Stefan at first overall, they were rebuilding.
Tampa won the cup four years later and it wasn't because of great drafting!

lol too funny. I missed what exactly he was replying too and just focused on his actual reply. Now the Flames suck because of something that might maybe kinda sorta could happen.
This forum has gone insane lately.
