It doesn't bother me as much. Keep in mind, she has been away from Rick's group for far longer than she was with them. The farm was over run about 2 or 3 months after the start of the ZA; this is now about 6 months later. Maybe she should be a little more loyal to Michonne, but she could have realized long ago that Michonne was a little on the crazy side, and just didn't have the means to leave before now.
As for the speach- I think we have to remember that this is television. In the real world that speach would have been a lot longer to get the result. Would it have been better to give her more screen time?

I think it's over a year since the apocalypse. Lori brought her baby to term while they were scavenging through the backwoods of Georgia.

I believe we're at least 14months into the ZA - weren't they camped outside of Atlanta for a month or so before Rick found them?
Then they spent the Summer at the farm, getting overrun in early Fall.
They spent the Winter on the road moving from place to place and then found the prison in the Spring.
They've been at the prison a couple months now too as Lorie was a month or so out from term when they got there, I think.
That's my loose time-line anyways...and a quick Google search brought me this much better one: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Te..._Show_Timeline

Just read Issue #1-52 of the comics. Oh man, the Governor's character is an awful caricature of a bad guy. In fact, I think the TV series has done an exemplary job of translating terrible characters into realistic, understandable characters. Ie. Andrea - completely ridiculous in the comics (Dale? Come on), but totally a real-life possibility in the TV series.

Yeah, I read the first dozen or so of the comics after the second season of the TV show because I was interested. I gave them up, I find the TV show far more entertaining. But then again I am not much of a comic book guy, so that may play a role in that as well.

Does the Governor really want Michonne that badly, or does he think that if Rick tried to hand her over she would just go ape over at the prison and basically achieve the same end result of ending the threat from the prison?

Things are building up nice.
And Rick can't be dumb enough to think the Gov is telling the truth about Michonne.
I also think Andrea has a little plan cooking that we don/t know about.
The last 3 should be pretty sweet.

Please keep the comic out of the thread. There is a whole other thread for people who want to talk about both.

Great episode. Much, much better than the first two episodes of the second half of the season. Loved the words between Daryl / Martinez and Hershel/Melvin.

It's in spoiler tags... If you don't want to see it don't read it.

To be fair, I started reading it because of the way I scan through threads.
A few short words strewn together (where it says "Comic reference"), my brain skipped over that and I just clicked into the spoiler because I assumed it was someone talking about tonight's episode of the TV show. Because this thread is about a TV show.
About the episode, I suppose it was a bit better Woodbury vs. Prison episode. It's kind of just "hurry up and get to the battle" at this point, though. Looking back at this season, there will be lots of ways it could have been structured better. Overall, the pacing just isn't working for me.
Martinez is a bit of wildcard. They seem to be setting him up for a betrayal. With Milton, too, of course.

The point is that it doesn't matter if the comic reference is in spoiler tags or not. It doesn't belong in this thread. There is an entire other Walking Dead Thread that you can post that spoiler in. This thread is for people who do not want to accidentally open the spoiler and have it take away from their show watching experience.
We appreciate that you are excited about the show and the comparison to the comics, but we don't really want to read about it in this particular thread.

Haven't seen Tyrese and his trio for two episodes now.
Andrea is brutal, that girl just can't act.
I liked the dynamic between the queer Doctor and scruffy McOneleg. I want him to join the good guys when all this falls apart. I think that's where it's heading.

Yep, I think he would be a good character to keep around longterm. He just brings a different element that we didn't have in the first couple seasons. Keep him and Tyrese, and kill off the rest of the Woodbury group (including good old Andrea).
If they setup a new storyline for next season with Rick, Darryl, Merle, Michonne, Tyrese, Melvin, and Morgan I'd be a happy camper. I hope it will have something to do with them hitting the road again, as we haven't had that since the first half of season two.

The interaction between Martinez and Daryl was awesome as well. It's really grounding to be reminded from time to time that these are just people, not soldiers or trained survivalists or anything like that, but just ordinary people forced into a crazy world. This was another terrific episode for me. It didn't leave me emotionally drained like last week's (that lone hitchhiker really got to me) but it was still a really great episode.
And you're SO right about the actress that plays Andrea, she's terrible.

I forgot, but does Andrea know that Michonne killed the Governor's daughter? If she does, then she's a complete moron for not having a good idea of what his "terms" are.

Thought that was a good episode, I think it was cool they got the two of them together before the 'war' starts. I also was relieved that Rick saw right through the Governor's fake smile. I kept cringing at the possibility of what could happen to Rick in that meeting... but was glad that nothing did

When the camera panned back to looking down through the opening I was thinking the Govenor was setting Rick up for a sniper shot.
I like how the episode worked on the character developement a bit more. Overall a good one.
