The defining moment for Button was giving away Savard for nothing. I said at the time this trade will get him fired and he and Gilbert would never see the NHL again.

So far so good

I could be wrong, but wasn't Button also the guy who tried to trade Iginla for Micheal peca?

The only good thing about Sven being sent down is he doesn't get anymore exposure to this bunch of losers. I don't care what anyone says. Don't agree with this teams best young prospect being sent down. Just wrong IMO.

I wasn't surprised. His confidence is not that high right now and maybe he is pushing himself because of the fans(especially here in CP) and media's expectation is way too high. He is only a kid and people are thinking he will dominate the NHL and even win the Rookie of the Year. Hopefully he can get his confidence back and the next time he gets back to Calgary he'll be a total different type of player. Good luck Sven.

Isn't he the guy who drafted Rico Fata in the first round 9th overall I think? As i recall, there was a talk that Fata is ready to play in the NHL.

No one really listened to me when I said Benching Baertschi and then sending him down to the AHL was a mistake.

If these back to back losses with 2 Goals For are any indication, i think its fair to say the Flames top 6 simply isnt good enough.

Glencross is as dumb as an ox. All he is good for is tip ins.
Never see him dominate a play.

Iginla is inconsistent.

Stajan is......Stajan.

Tanguay has dissapeared.

Hudler & Cervenka have started taking nights off.

Cammy is their only pure Goal Scorer.

Baertschi gets pushed around too easily though. If you give him plenty of top six minutes, I don't think he would be doing much out there either. Or worse yet, end up getting injured again.

He needs to keep healthy and play as much as possible right now. His time will come.

Vicki Hall ‏@vickihallch Sven Baertschi:I just can’t score. It’s not going my way right now. I’m trying. I just can’t do much about it. I’ve just got to keep going.

Baertschi on his demotion: “I’ve never been that disappointed so far in my whole hockey career."

Disappointing, hopefully things work out for him

He'll have an easier time in the AHL, he'll find his groove, and he will be back up here for more. Won't be long, I hope he realizes that, as I'm sure he does.

Needs power play time to adjust to speed and size of NHL game in a controlled environment, allow him to get a feel for the puck with just that little bit extra ice and time.

I don't believe in giving away prime minutes, but he's a power play player.

That is scary. Hopefully he pulls it together and gets his confidence back. An injury right now could really derail his career. Lets hope he stays healthy and it starts going in.

it's not scary at all - I see a kid with a great attitude and drive.

people lose their confidence sometimes - it happens. He'll get it back because he is determined and talented

It's disappointing to hear, but hardly anything to over dramatize. What's he suppose to say, I'm glad I've been demoted?

Simply embarrassing the way the team has handled this.

Calgary Flames, confidence killers.

I am not over dramatizing this at all. Not something I am going to lose any sleep over. In the long run it can be a character builder and I am reasonably confident he will get through it. I don't think the sky is falling on Baertschi or anything.

But it is scary. He is the one AAA NHL ready prospect we have. He has been plagued by injuries so far this season and now seems to have a confidence issue. He wouldn't be the first prospect to have his career derailed by that. This is also a pretty drastic contrast to his normally positive demeanor.

Like I said above. Hopefully he manages to stay healthy and get through this quickly. He most likely will.

Doubt he does much better in the AHL. Apparently the heat having been having incredible trouble scoring goals. Going from one bad situation to another im afraid.

That's a stretch. I'm sure he's disappointed, and maybe his confidence is shaken, but there's nothing to conclude that he has confidence issues.
It's nothing to worry too much about.

Did anyone watch the game today? Looks like he had 0 points, was a -1 and didn't score in the shoot out.

Does anyone know how he looked?

Sven had a phenomenal game today in Rochester. From what I understand and heard Horak and Sven were creating some real magic out there and were beating everyone, but couldn't beat Leggio (the goalie).
