Canada will have beaten Mexico, Mexico will have beaten the USA, and the USA will have beaten Canada. Head-to-head solves nothing. So they then go with run-difference tiebreakers, so the USA will need to beat Canada by a bit of a margin to end up winning the tiebreakers between the teams.

Ya you're totally right. I was looking at the picture with Mexico out of it, but if they end up in a 3 way (snicker) Canada is in good shape.
*edit* Jepworth what are IPO and IPD?

It's kinda apples to oranges since one is a SP and one is a reliever and SPs are obviously more valuable but on performance, it's not even close, Romo's WHIP is almost half Gallardo's. One of the best relievers in the game vs a journeyman 3.50-4 ERA starter. But anyway it doesn't matter and Gallardo is a way more valuable asset from a value point of view.

Good stuff...the win and the fight should bring that team together. Hopefully Lawrie didn't hurt himself further...but this would be right up his alley being able to jump off the bench.
Apparently, some Mexican fan threw threw a water bottle after, hitting a Canadian coach in the face.
Video here of the whole thing.

Innings played on offense and Innings played on defense. Very odd acronyms, I needed to look it up after I posted that haha.

More here...the 3b telling the pitcher to hit the next batter.
And the flying water bottle...
And Larry Walker taunting Mexican fans after the game...after a ball was thrown out on the field in his direction when the game resumed.

That would be none other then Lethbridge PBA product and Phillies prospect Jay Johnson

Looks like the US will win tonight so no abacus needed tomorrow.
It's a simple winner take all showdown.

Really? Based on what exactly? I don't see anyone calling him a star here, but he's a good pitcher. Aceves is garbage.

The three Canadians ejected aren't kicked out of the tourney.
Can easily blame the rules on this fight...when you only play 3 games in a round robin format, you're just asking for tiebreakers...and what other tiebreakers can you have besides run differential? Normally, unless your Bobby Valentine, you don't bunt when up by 6 runs in the 9th, its showing the other team up for no gain for your team.
In this case, there is value thoough in winning by not just 6 or 7 or 8, because those tiebreakers come into play. If the US lost tonight by 1 run, that extra 10th run Canada got today may have been huge tomorrow, where the US would have to win, and then win by 6 instead of 5 runs to advance.
Would be nice to beat the Americans on home soil tomorrow.

I believe in the Jays.

Getting riled up and purposely throwing at batters over a bunt is ridiculous. Its a free out in a game where they probably just want to get off the field.

The problem isn't the rules, the problem are the Mexicans. Did you see Canada throw at the Italians? Did you see the Taiwanese throw at the Cubans? (and the Cubans were running up the score in an elimination game, not run difference)

Even the manager says that his players are stupid.
------------
The big showdown is at 2pm! I hear the sun is out and roof will be open!

Ya Iorg, I almost feel bad for him but he is totally out of his depth against major league pitching. Almost an automatic out. His batting average is that bad, at the minor league level.
Canada is going to regret not cashing in those runners on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out.
