I think freight is shipped to commercial buildings and trade depots, so slap in some more commercial if you can support it.

From what I understand, a trade depo with a freight add on.

1 - I read you can ship freight out on rail but I dont see what building allows you to do that? The trade depot doesnt have a snap point for rail. If I put a rail line next to it I dont notice a freight train graphic where as I do for commuter rail.
2 - for resources - will 1 oil well eventually use up all of the oil underneath it or does it only use the oil directly underneath it. Example if there is a large black area that indicates oil, can I only plop 1 oil well to extract all the oil.
3 - trade depots, I dont really see the point of placing add ons. All it seems to do is to be a transfer point for where industry can ship to the outside world. I dont really see how the different coal or cargo bays are being used other than to store. For coal I placed 2, they got filled up then I turned off my coal mine until they were depleted then I turned it on again. It seems weird.
4 - is there a way to increase the capacity of your commuter rail line. There are messages saying the line is full and yet I dont see a way to expand it.

1. you need to build a trade HQ which will allow you to build a trade port, which does rail and water.
2. it will only use up whats underneath the well, the more wells you put down the more production you get.
3. trade depots have their own trucks which can export stuff for you so you can make money. Very much worth having the add-ons.

IGNs wiki seems to be helpful for these types of things.
http://ca.ign.com/wikis/simcity
There are just so many cool things in the game I want to try but I just need more space
The train station limitation of 500 seems oddly low for the cost of the thing. I wonder why so few, and why I cant expand it.

This whole 500 person capacity on the passenger rail really upsets me, why so low, 500/day seems crazy

I'm pretty sure it's 500 per train car.
One of my cities says it has over 2300 train riders a day so *shrug*.

Has anyone tried a city with multiple tran stations?
Just wondering if that would work well to have 1 in industrial area and 1 in commercial/culture area.
I also really wish there was a toll that allowed you to plan how the buildings plop. I find it really frustrating have to plan my road network around how my rail line is going to connect to my roads rather than how it will connect to rail.
Also same thing with the trade ports, I wish there was a way to commit to purchase then, allow you to do a few test plops to see how it will fit.

This is my suggestion: planning mode. Doesn't deduct funds, doesn't give you the effects of whatever you're building, but lets you place it on the map. Then later you could click on a planned structure to build it. Of course, the OCD among us would probably plan our whole city before we start building anything.

Would be interesting if they made it almost like an ability where you have a certain timer on it and a cool down once you've exhausted that timer. Leaves some aspect of the read and react.

I think having it not affect anything is enough of a drawback. It's just for spatial planning, you won't see effects on demand or anything like that until you actually build it.

That's true. If anything I want to have the ability to toggle between the potential higher density buildings so it shows whether it'll have enough space or not.

Well, I just survived an earthquake. Luckily I have the finances to make the repairs.
And it is a shame I still have no neighbors. I noticed some towns are commuting to my town for work and school.

Has anyone started another CP region on a different server? I am on Titan Currently but with 4 people in that region quitting the game it leaves 4 citys claimed but not doing anything.....this brings down the whole region so I was looking for another place to go where people are working together

I still have 10 claimable plots on a Region I have on NAW2. I have a personal friend joining tonight, and at least 2 are reserved for my wife, but the other 6-7 are up for grabs.
HalogenTophat on Origin, will likely be online and playing ~7 PM MST.

Yea I'm to blame for one of those cities, the issue now is it wont let me reclaim any of them now for some reason.

I started a region last night, I plan on being very active, and have claimed a couple spots, however lots left.
My username is FlawedSuperman, look me up and join.
I do have one abandoned city plot, however it can be fixed up, and it is a bunch of roads going nowhere (I was testing) and about $40,000 cash still.
