I'm not expecting two points tonight. I would like to be pleasantly surprised though.

Flames win tonight...huge. Lots of goals.
McGrattan gets in 2 fights.
Cammy pops 2 in.
Cervenka pops 1.
Sven flips a table.
Go Flames go!

If the Flames can manage to win back to back games
In LA, they would be tied with the kings. I dont like the odds of this happening, but we have seen stranger things. They could also lose back to back and the season would be over.

Agreed. He still has some stuff to work on. It's no big deal. Giroux, Perry, Spezza, Staal, ect. have spent time in the AHL and they all turned out fine.

Just looking at this, I have no idea how Flames are going to make the playoffs. The quality of the teams ahead of them on the standards is greater, and that's a fair quantity of teams they'll have to be better than over the stretch of the season. Flames will need a lot of 3 game win streaks and get as many points as they can when they lose.
Their bad start may have already sealed their fate.

So let me get this straight. You have no idea how the Flames could win 2 more games then any of those teams in the next 24?! Really? That's a stretch for you?
I think people around here need to do more cheering for the team and a little less analyzing . That's for when everything is said and done. I'm a fan and I say this every season. I'm cheering hard for the Flames to get into the playoffs until the math says otherwise

4-3 kings.
Flames play with urgency, but simply do not have the horses that LA does

I'm actually looking forward to seeing this place after the game more than I'm looking forward to the actual game.
I am not going to say I think the Flames win because I'm not sure they can win against a Kings team that seems to be playing well. I'm not going to say I think the Flames lose because this team has shown they can almost beat anyone.
The fact that they're so inconsistant isn't a good thing because they're as unpredictable against a last place team as they are against a first place team.

Right now 8 teams lie in playoff positions, and 3 teams occupy the following spots in front of Flames. Each of the current playoff teams aside form Stars (and perhaps Wings now) have shown they have a playoff quality lineup, and will be surprising for them to miss out of entering them this year. Meanwhile you have the Coyotes, who have consistently made it to the playoffs the past few years, the Wild which is a much improved team than last season and actually should be better with their firepower (so room to improve), and Predators (another playoff consistent team, although lost a key player) ahead of the Flames, a team with history of falling flat on their face in the stretch drive part of the season.
Going off of recent history, and current history, with the Flames lacking centre depth which has bite them in the ass, abysmal powerplay execution (and you need to score on PPs to be a playoff team), and Flames recent history, I'm anticipating Flames will fall short of playoffs since the climb is too steep at this point. They'll have to play lights out to do otherwise. Don't expect that, but would be pleasantly surprised.

Don't kid yourself, I've been a Flames fan for most of my life and I'm sure most people on here have too. I will always cheer for the Flames, the thing is that I'm a realist. I don't want them to sacrifice the future for a chance at 4 games in the playoffs (first and a third for a second line center).
I (along with a few others) would rather see the team trade away "key/core" players like Iggy, Kipper, Cammy, JayBow..... for younger players and/or prospects and picks. I would rather see a young tallented team push hard for the playoffs and fall short than an old team with no passion fall short down the stretch year after year after year after year.

Given our record with/without Kipper and with Iggy having a slow start...I'm not convinced that, if we got a good return, the Flames would be all that far behind.
And the setback, should it happen, would be temporary

Glencross not on the ice for warmup. That would be the player that Bob Hartley wasn't sure about when speaking this morning I guess. #Flames

At the very end of the game last time these teams met...Carter took a run at Iggy with his elbow very high..literally as the 3rd expired. Iggy was friggin' pissed....any body remember that?
Whats the over/under on Iggy going after Carter? I am thinking he may go after him right quick to get everyone fired up.
(Or not at all because I am terrible at this stuff lol)
