Ugh there's no way of turning off disaster, are there? I have a 160k population city, and am the only contributor to the International airport build, sending metal and alloy. But then an earthquake just hit, killing off my mayor's house and mansion, and a bunch of my apartment buildings. Now I'm bleeding red, my citzens aren't happy, and I'm too poor to rebuild my house and mansion. I could take a loan, but there's no guarantee I would be able to get myself back up and running a profit before the loans run out.
I'm not having much issues with traffic and I have two parts of a region packed with all types of zoning. My biggest thing right now is gifting. I gifted 750k to a 'new' section of the region to build up a residential area and the money was taken from the one city but never sent to the second city. Just gone...maybe it was lost in the mail.
I've tried 'testing' by sending cross amounts of cash, even watching the damn cash car come from one city to the other to pick up the cash and go back.
Bottom line, regional play is still very much spotty. Works at times and others not so much. Going to self his guy for at least a week. I've really enjoyed it so far but not going to waste my time on a partially working product in the mean time.
Not at all, as I've said, I would rather start with LA over any of the other WC playoff teams. Bunch of underachievers who look good on paper but don't even deserve to be in the playoffs.

What I did was built a Trade Depot and it showed up shortly after. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or what but seemed to work.

May have to abandon my city. Gah.
Jeez, don't like the sound of this:

Only way you can disable disasters if you are playing in Sandbox Mode. Sandbox Mode is dependent on the region. The person creating the region has the option to make it Sandbox Mode.
This allows:
All Buildings
Limited Cheats
No Random Disasters
Note: Sandbox cities are ineligible for achievements, challenges, or leaderboards.
To be fair tho giant lizards and super villains are common place problems for cities in the world.

Pretty clear that this wonderful new AI they gave us isn't really so. We sacrificed large city sizes for these accurate calculations?
There's numerous other videos popping up with examples of what I've been seeing. Endless loops with transit leaving the rest of the city to fend for themselves, only one lane allowing right turns forcing others to turn left then do a u-turn and finally head in the direction they want, pack mentality of emergency services... list goes on and on.
Cute....looks like they are doing a one-off shortest route calculation instead of a dynamic best path one. My favorite is when an emergency vehicle has to travel to the end of a street to turn around to the other side, and that they have to wait at intersections while going somewhere. They really need to find better AI scripting people; stuff like this should have been sorted out in the first few weeks of Alpha testing, and take a few weeks to implement. Wonder if this whole "cloud calculation" thing, which I think is less about speed and more about security, is a bigger limitation than they think.
I can't get into west server 1, which coincidentally is where my city is located.

Just as a heads up, I have a region rolling in NA West 2, and I sent out a handful of invites to people on my friends list that have at least logged in once to NAW2 (I think that's how it works anyway). Other who want in are more than welcome.

tried joining but NAW2 is completely full (while 1 isn't funnily enough). but there's also now a NAW3 and 4, maybe we should try on one of those?
I gave up on NA1 and started over on NA4. WAAAYY better.
They also said on Twitter today that they are aware of the region gifting issue and are working on it.
I just tried a bunch of different servers and it is slow and choppy for me on each one of them.
