Can't win in that barn. Period. Brutal. Once more the Flames bend over and take it in the tail pipe like an impotent jerk. This team is like some women I've known...You love them and they just keep hurting you, yet you can't leave.

You know why they lost tonight?? Because this team sucks!! Sure they played the bulk of the game in the Anaheim zone...because they forchecked hard and cycled the puck well, they worked hard. In the end they lack the finish and talent.

Anaheim scored on horrible turnovers, and poor coverage...again...because the Flames suck.

So tired of all the excuses.

I'm praying for similar results tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that. Unless this team loses about 12 in a row, nobody is going to do a damn thing to fix this team.
When the Flames lost 9 in a row, they basically traded Phaneuf for Stajan, instead of for picks.

I don't really know what you expect here. The Flames can't even "fail" right, so you have to understand why some people aren't talking blow it up again.

9 in a row. That streak really sucked. This team has also lost 9-0 and 9-1 since the 2009-2010 season. That hasn't happened yet either this season, and I hope it doesn't.

Lastly, everyone talking about "rebuilding" like Philly, they suck too. 3 games up on Calgary, and just 1 point ahead. I don't want to "rebuild" philly style either.

Hell, even when the Flyers went to the cup finals, it was because Jokinen botched a shootout attempt in the final regular season game.

This is a bad team. Years without making the playoffs.
So what that they played great? They lost 4 - 0.
This is not figure skating. You dont get awarded points for how great your performance was. You get points for scoring more goals than your opponent.

Cant believe people are still talking moral victories. Same story year after year. The team hangs around within strikin distance of 8th place. Then fails to deliver in the important games and in the end doesnt make the playoffs. With the additional downside of ownership and management going for a playoff push rather than being intellectually honest and focussing on making the team better for next year and the future.

Flames played good and deserved a better fate but a loss is a loss in the end and you can't put yourself in a hole one minute into the game against a goaltender who has been playing lights out.

I don't give 2 rats asses that Comeau looked decent, guy still can't finish and unless you are on the 4th line you are expected to finish therefore you still suck!

Giordano...stupid, mental fart again cost another goal. When this guy makes a mistake is it ever a doozy and always ends up in the back of the net. Thing about Giordano is though, he looks like he becomes mentally fatigued when he plays in that 23 minute range. You can actually see Mr. Bean standing behind the net.

There are more positives than negatives out of this game, unfortunately the biggest negative comes in the form of the score and that's the only one that matters.

Been reading the same thread for four years. Broken record. It does defy logic that there is contingent that is of the belief that the Flames are suddenly gonna awake out of their slumber and make that cup run.

The key players on this team are now four years older than when a proper rebuild should have been initiated, and it remains to be seen if management wakes up and does more than shuffle the deck chairs on this listing vessel. I don't think it can even be said that the Flames would be worse off if Iginla, Cammalleri, Bouwmeester and/or Kipper were to be shipped out. That's not to diss any of those players, but as seen with Kipper out, this squad looks basically the same with or without him.

It's time to move on, in fact it has been for a number of years. If Feaster is able to move two or three of these vets and obtain a solid return (and hopefully give playoff life to Iginla), then I will say well done, sir. If this team basically stands in the sand and drafts 10-14 in June then he should become an unemployable commodity in anything beyond the ECHL.

The Flames are probably only a season or two from being competitive, but there is work to be done to get there.

Stupid, stupid crap. I wish for once the Flames would get rewarded for outworking a team consistently through a game when they come in as underdogs.
posts like these amuse me...

"if my aunt had a dick, she'd be my uncle"...

the point is Anaheim DOES have that goalie - saying "if they didn't have so and so"... isn't an argument; its a wish.

In 2004, I am sure lots of fans were saying, Calgary would suck if they didn't have Kipper in net...

why does Calgary always feel the need to give up a goal in the first 2 minutes? Are they unprepared? sleeping? thinking of something else?

Probably a mix of being unprepared and getting to relaxed before the game. But you see this happen all the time when it starts getting a little chaotic in their own zone.

They start running around and no one communicates with each other. Then everyone ends up floating around watching the puck thinking someone else will pick up the opposing team. Then blamo goal.

Sven Bärtschi was 11 years old the last time the Flames won in Anaheim.

Kipper let in some bad ones? Which one was bad?

There was terrible defensive coverage on all the goals.

This team needs a LOT more work than tinkering at year end and selling off a couple of vets. Be prepared to cry for a few years if that's your hope.
Did you read my post?? Who said anything about tinkering at year end?? You. I want a full rebuild. It starts by dumping Iginla and Bouwmeester etc at the trade deadline for quality young prospects and high picks. How is that tinkering?

I'm all for "crying for a few years" if it means a change in direction finally and a legitimate attempt to fix this team long term. I guess you like to cry every year since 2004 with Iginla around to wipe your years away right up until the last couple games of the season when you realize they are out of it?? Yes, truly enjoyable the last 9 or so years have been. I think I will take my chances on the rebuild.

Not once did I suggest this team will turn it around over night. Rebuild it not. I have however, unlike yourself, accepted that this team sucks and needs a drastic change in direction. You'd be wise to do the same. Clearly your preference is cheering blindly and praying for a miracle.

It's fans like yourself that encourage management to continue on its current path. Some of us don't accept mediocrity. As long as the majority do however management will do nothing because it continues to fill the seats thanks to the face of the franchise.

The Flames will likely go .500 in the 12 games before the deadline. Hopefully that is enough to convince the jokers running the team that major change is needed. If there was ever a year it would be this one. Perhaps when they see that Kipper is under .500, will likely be under .500 at the trade deadline, that even he cannot save this team anymore, change may come.

For all the talk about the playoffs, the Flames are as close to 27th overall in the league as they are to a playoff spot. Like I said in an earlier post, the Flames are about 5 games away from having to win 2 out of every 3 for the rest of the year. And with the exception of Kipper and Backlund this team has been healthy, probably lost amongst the fewest man games to injury of almost any team in the NHL.

This is only the 3rd time they've given up a goal in the first 2 minutes. Curiously, one of the other times was against the Ducks as well.

We have scored first in the majority of our games. We have held the lead going into the 2nd period in the majority of our games.

No one on this board is shouting moral victories against the real ugly games this season. Go to the PG threads in the games versus Vancouver, STL or PHX, you aren't going to see the same kind of reaction as you see here tonight. Why? Because people know there was some good tonight.

Flames weren't dominated like the scoreline suggests, not even close.

If the Flames suck, then so do the Kings, Sharks, Blues, Stars, Coyotes. Because those are all teams the Flames are within relative striking distance of. Look at the standings, it's right there. This league is so tight, it's so much harder to win, game in/game out in this league.

So if the Flames suck, then there's only 2-3 teams in the West who don't suck in your mind and everyone else is garbage.

I can't fathom having this kind of mindset, pathetic.
So at the end of the season when the Flames don't make the playoffs...AGAIN... You'll admit the team sucks?? It really takes the final game of the season for you to admit that?! You've really got your blinders on. This team has given do many games away this year it's disgusting. They find a way to lose.

Those teams you mentioned that are similar to us are all ahead of us. You know that right?? "Within relative striking distance" haha that's priceless. They are ahead of us and have played better. Simple. Why are you not using Edmonton, Columbus and Colorado in your comparison? We're closer to them in terms of points. I guess they can hold their heads high though because they are within very real striking distance of us. Priceless.

Having a mindset of wanting to rebuild is pathetic!!?? Because that's what this boils down to for me and its clear as long as this team is "within relative striking distance" they will never make the necessary changes to improve this team long term. So yeah...if it takes losing 10 straight for management to accept they need to rebuild...so be it.

It would appear you as a fan need to see 10 straight loses as well before you realize this team sucks...even after missing the playoffs for so many years!? Haha

Yes...it's clearly me that is pathetic and flawed in my thinking.

I hope you don't settle for such mediocrity in life...
