That's terrible.. think of all those poor, innocent, enslaved children working in the tunnels a few blocks away at Disneyland.

Thought we played great until Giordano made that terrible turnover.

All I have to say is that the Duck fans really impressed me. They know their stuff. Don't know if it showed on TV but when the score was shown in the Hawks game the whole crowd cheered at their loss.

There was much more energy in the building than at most Flames games. They were really respectable and very hockey knowledgeable. Great game even though we lost. A bunch of fans on the way out were saying the Flames outplayed them.

Gio started off great, but he's just playing really below average for well over 60 games. Hopefully the LA game will turn out better.

You know why they lost tonight?? Because this team sucks!! Sure they played the bulk of the game in the Anaheim zone...because they forchecked hard and cycled the puck well, they worked hard. In the end they lack the finish and talent.

Anaheim scored on horrible turnovers, and poor coverage...again...because the Flames suck.

So tired of all the excuses.

I'm praying for similar results tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that. Unless this team loses about 12 in a row, nobody is going to do a damn thing to fix this team.
quite fascinating that these excuses come after each lost game, year in year out, we're just thiiiiis close to get a bounce, if this and that falls into place we'd be rockin', one would say it almost sounds oiler-esque

I thought the Flames were the better team tonight. Unfortunately that didn't reflect on the scoreboard. That's not an excuse, that's an acknowledgement that sometimes you can play good and lose. I could understand the doom and gloom if they played the way the Oilers played tonight. The thing is, they didn't. Hopefully they can put a few in the net tomorrow.

As for the game...le sigh. I don't even know what to say. Flames deserved a better fate. Anaheim is winning despite playing poorly. What can you do? On to L.A.

Oh, god, please tell me your are not serious. Everyone should feel free to laugh at, ridicule, and unearth every bit of minutia the exacerbates the Oilers many, many flaws, regardless of where the Flames happen to be in the standings or how they are playing. The same goes for every team.

There is no karma.
Nobody actually lives in a glass house.
The performance of hockey players and your thoughts and feelings about them have absolutely no practical connection in real life whatsoever.

Just gotta bring it on tomorrow.. and on Monday. Those are two must win games IMO. We can build off of this win. Just like we did off of Chicago's victory.

Flames have to go about 15-9-2 the rest of the way to make the playoffs. That would be roughly a .620 winning percentage or about a 101 point pace the rest of the year. They are quickly approaching their standard "If we win 2 out of every 3 games for the rest of the year we will make the playoffs" time of year. Only having 11 home games left and 15 road games will make that task even tougher. Maybe go 8-2-1 at home and 7-7-1 on the road.

Pretty good game though, they definitely competed overall. Too bad for Gio, having all 3 forwards blow the zone because we could give a crap about playing defense really made him look bad. He should have just iced it, it was his only play.

Man, it is amazing how CP can not accept a loss and throws blame towards cliches. Fasth outplaying Kiprusoff and Anaheim's top end skill have little to do with the first two goals which were the game.

Remember the LA loss where everyone was talking about being outmuscled but the real problem was the Flames giving the Kings the perimeter and letting LA drift in to the high slot, watching the puck and not the man? And how were the first two goals scored tonight? Kiprusoff had little business stopping these.

Fasth had to contend with chances like Iggy throwing the puck in front and a reaching tip by Cervenka. It can work, but is more chance based than the Winnik goal where he is uncontested. Little control from the tipper, just hope the redirection goes in the right direction. Or Stajan in close, trying to stuff the puck in low.

Don't get me wrong, Fasth is good, but Kipper had to deal with worse defensive breakdowns. So many goals are scored by guys with time and space in the slot. Every goalie's nightmare.

The Flames played fine in a lot of ways. After being down 2-0 you have to press and can be exposed. I applaud Hartley for the philosophy of continuing to press and for his post game composure. It would be nice if CP could take a deep breath. It has become an odd place.

For all the criticism Butler gets, the most strategic play for a team that plays "up tempo" is to ice the puck as many times as they can when there aren't any other options. I know it sounds counter intuitive. It prevents their opponent from gaining zone momentum and also takes away from their possession time.

Calgary really needs a guy who can go 55% for the entire season in the circle and take a ton of faceoffs.
