I find it almost comical that everyone seems to downgrade his performance every year. It really shows that when he is put with actual NHL calibre players, who can produce on their own, that he does what he always does, score goals in bunches. If the other players can keep up their pace then the team will be fine.
And the other players usually don't play against the other teams top defence pairings either, so I think Jarome is fine.

He's not scoring off the rush anymore, not from the face off dots and that concerns me.

He is almost 53 years old...perhaps his eyesight just ain't what it used to be?

Jarome is Jarome.
He is slow to start, but always a force to be reckoned with when he gets going. He's going, and I'm happy. End of story for me.

Last year 82 games 67 points
This year 20 games 16 pts.
Seems to be on the same pace.

He's playing well, as usual. His value is high. He's Jarome Iginla, one of the most consistent goal scorers in the league.
I have no idea what's going to happen with him but I believe what's best for the team is that he be moved for a 1st and a prospect.
Probably won't happen.

He only has 6 goals but I do think he is the most dangerous Flame on the ice 90% of the time. Look at the chances his line gets or at least the amount of time spent on the attack compared to other lines. He has made the guys he plays with better. He is way underated as a playmaker. I will say, his lack of scoring is a bit of a concern. He is shooting a lot, but not scoring. Maybe they should just let him play with Cammy and Sven and let Jarome be the set up guy.

I strongly think that Iggy needs to be given more icetime. 16:30sh just aint enough to unleash the full potential. We saw that in both the Keenan and Sutter era.

During the sharks game, he was a non factor for the majority of the night. He wasn't moving his feet, he wasn't physically involved, and he looked bored. Then he scores, starts skating with some purpose, and he looks like a dominant player.
This is not the behaviour of someone who is trying to will his team into contention; it is the behaviour of a man who knows he's going to need to fill out change of address forms in a month. If he was going to be extended, it would've happened by now.
Enjoy the next month. Thank him for the memories.

Completly disagree. Thought he made a great pass on the first goal, and was noticable throughout the game.

The captain scores a goal and an assist in a big win against a tough team and you manage to put a negative spin on it? Give it a rest. Every hockey player gets a boost from scoring a goal. Do you really think Jarome doesn't want to win here?

Just completely wrong. Iginla was one of their best forwards in the San Jose game, start to finish.

Did you even bother to watch the whole game? He made that first goal happen with a great pass. And as mike rogers said on the post game show, jarome led with his play all over the ice. You obviously haven't played much hockey, cause you have no clue what ur talking about.

He set up the first goal, yes. And until he scored again, he was coasting around the ice. I did bother to watch the whole game, and the difference between a motivated, hard-charging Iggy and the perimeter player who doesn't move his feet and tries to stickhandle through everyone is EXTREMELY obvious. Especially when they appear so close together in the same game.
I've played about as much hockey as everyone else on this board, though not so much that I throw a 'ur' in the middle of a paragraph full of properly spelled words for no reason.

I honestly think the Cervenka, Hudler, Iginla line has not even came close to their potential yet. I feel like they are playing well, but the chances they have been getting are not going in as often as they could be. They are all playing well together and I think Hartley has something going with them. Hudler could be the staple for Iginla scoring a lot this season and if they keep this up, could push Calgary over the edge to being a better team.
Iggy is fine. His slow start is now over, lets hope he keeps it up and the Flames can get back to back wins in LA tonight and Monday.

I was saying that to my buddy at the Coyotes game a couple weeks back. Lots of mucker and in close goals from him this year it seems. The one vs the sharks last game was more what you'd expect from Iggy.
But a few stars on the downswing of their career have to reinvent themselves a bit as they start to slow down and the wear and tear catches up. Iggy would fall into this category based on his power forward style of play over tge years so maybe we're seeing a bit of that.
I'm just glad they're going in for him again!
