I just wish it would stop crashing on me and not saving the progress. Feel like I've been playing the same 15-30 minutes.

I'm actually surprised by this. When it crashed for me the other day it always saved.
I know it isn't my doing but I'm sorry everyone here has had so much frustration from a game I hyped so much.
I still think it is a great game and I have had fun playing but this crap just makes me so upset.

I feel like bad for piling on but the game has me so frustrated with the glitches and map size. I wish I could have enjoyed it

I did a search for "SimCity 4 64x64 grid" and it brought me here!
I did find this though: http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=488062

How does it work if you want to just play by yourself to dink around with some cities, can you create a city and claim all the regions?

Just create a private region. You can claim any or all of the cities in that region.

i did just that, but i think this region stuff is badly broken. created a private region and chose the first one with 3 connected cities. i made two a mix of residential and commercial, and the 3rd pure industrial. but the sims refuse to commute, the two suburb communities are screaming for industrial and my oil town is dying because no one is working there. they won't even share services, my oil town is generating a ton of power but the other two cities can't buy any of it
so the plot sizes are far too small to have self sufficient cities in them, and when playing the "right" way and setting up an entire region you still can't get anywhere because the system is broken. i think i'm just gonna say #### it and shelf SimCity for a few months. maybe by then they'll have gotten it working like advertised

Yeah that is a server issue.
Look me up when you decide to dig it out again. Hopefully by then things are fixed.

I started a region and a city, then worked my way up to 20k people, only to find out that the region didn't have any resources that should be there. Other than ground water, there was notta in any city plot.

How do I buy more power from a connected city? I see I'm buying some, but I need more and I don't know how to do it.

Sigh. So I just founded and played a city for 2,5 hours in the Viridian region, and the game didn't save it -.-

Anyone else get stuck on the tutorial when joining a new server?
The city loads but the actual tutorial never loads... can't click on anything either

I am fairly certain that you can't actually control this. As long as you've selected "Buy" from the other city, it will automatically purchase whatever it needs...assuming it's available of course.

While frustrated, I see the potential and am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Well, for a couple of weeks anyway.

Yeah I sort of realized that afterwards. What was weird though was I built a newer and bigger power plant in the adjacent city, but I was still experiencing brownouts in my larger city. Not enough power was being imported even thought there was more than enough being produced.
I'm still enjoying experimenting with things, but I agree with the sentiments of others; it's frustrating to run out of space so soon.

Har har... Origin thinks I've been "playing" SimCity for 9 hours. Apparently trying to find a working server and queuing now constitutes "play time" in EA's eyes....

To be fair, Steam isn't much good at figuring out "play time" either.
