So looks like I'll be getting a S4 when ever they come out. With all these battery issues, I would hope they addressed that issue.
Though a bendable screen would be cool, a working battery would be nicer.

every phone will suffer major battery drain with LTE and Google Now enabled. it's not really a design flaw from Samsung

Strange, my card was corrupted 2 days ago. I bought a new one but I am afraid to use it. Is memory card covered under the warranty when it is corrupted?

I actually kinda forgot how bad the battery was until I disabled my battery saver yesterday. Using Snapdragon as my new one, which needs about 4 days of "learning" how you use your phone before it kicks in I guess.
I charge my phone at the end of the day and unplug it as I'm going to bed. With Easy Battery Saver I was waking up to it being at around 97-98%. This morning? 83%. Jebus...

Yeah, I actually turned Google Now back on after having it off for a few weeks. It doesn't drain my battery much at all. The real culprit is LTE. Disabling that has doubled my battery life (not even exaggerating). There isn't even a penalty to turning it off for everyday use. I have a toggle to turn it on with a couple of taps, but I have never even needed to use it as 4G is all I ever need.

Just got mine this week, I'm happy with the battery life even with LTE rolling. With it off, fantastic. Rooted the first day I got her.
A guy in my class just realized, 2 months after buying his online, that he has the int'l quad-core version with no LTE. This after he bragged about yelling at the poor girl in the Bell store who couldn't figure out why his LTE wasn't working. Took me 2 seconds to show him the 'I9300' on his device which tells it all.

Has anybody who rooted and flashed aokp 4.2 having issues with LTE?
I'm trying to figure out if what the ROM is indicating 4g is actually LTE. I have been in and out of coverage so I haven't had a chance to test speeds.
Just wondering if anybody else is showing the same.

AOKP will show either HSPA+ or 4G (LTE). Settings, About Device,Status will tell you exactly your signal is.

Just got my Galaxy S3. Got sick of the battery life dropoff all of a sudden on my HTC Raider. Loving the speed of this phone. Yes, I know I could have waited for the GS4, but it wouldn't be as cheap on an upgrade and the GS3 still rocks.

Plus, why do you need an 8 core phone? I think the Galaxy S III now is still going to be an upper end phone for 12-18 months still.

Yeah. Does concern me though that the S4 is coming out right away and I "just" got the S3. Plus, contracts are 36 months so...
Really though, at the end of the day, if you are waiting for the next great thing all the time, you would never have a phone.

So a quick question for those in the know. The notification light is blue and blinks by default. I use Kik Messenger on a daily basis and noticed that it had an option to change the notification colour. When I received a message before changing anything, it blinked blue like every other app (at least I think it did - I can't remember now). I changed the option in Kik to green, but it does not blink now. It's just a solid green. I prefer the light to blink. Now, I can't seem to change it back. I tried setting it to blue, but then it's just a solid blue. If I select none, then there is no LED light at all. I tried clearing the data and cache for Kik, but it still is a solid blue, when I turn the LED light notification back on. Is there any way to set it back to get it back to the default blinking blue?

That sucks man. Dropped my Nexus last week and got a couple of small cracks that are at least livable. Whats the replacement cost? The nexus is expensive at $150 to $250.
Is the SIII still worth getting? Have a chance to grab a new one at $100 through work.

I hope you mean $100 for just the phone with no contract or anything. Most places are going at $0 for a 3 year.
On a semi-unrelated note, the HTC One X on Telus is going for $0 on 2 year for any plan at all, even below $50 per month.
