Laser hair removal?
Has anyone ever done this before here? Does it work? Any recommendations on places to go in Calgary?

My brother had his shoulders done: doesn't regret it one bit, and the hair hasn't come back almost two year later.
I should note, he knows someone who works at a hair removal place in Sunridge Professional building, so he got his treatments *hugely* discounted. Practically free, if I recall correctly.
I don't have the name, but I can get it.

Do men who go into clinics to get their hair removed do so in the hope they will get to have sex more often? Are they really lacking that much in confidence?

My wife had her underarms done. The hair only came back when she was pregnant, but disappeared again when she had the baby. She says it was worth the money. It only works on people with darker hair.

My wife's uncle services the lasers, whatever you do try to avoid the places that offer it super cheap. If it sounds like a great deal then there is probably some red flags there.
Does it work? Yes! Where should you go? You will probably get the best, and safest results from a dermatologist like Dr. Remmington.

I'm looking into it also, but due to the color of my skin I am going to require the yag.
I would advise against IPL though.

Seriously, why do people get it? I don't understand the purpose of this treatment.

why? From what I have been told, there are benefits and drawbacks to both, it really depends on different factors

IPL is not al laser at all and can damage skin, plus the results are not known to be as permanent as a true laser.

be careful of where you go and what equipment they use. Last year on all the 'deal' sites, laser hair removal was offered at supposed 99% discounts. then I saw a program on tv about people making up the term 'licensed laser technician', which doesn't exist. The major issue is that some can scorch your skin and cause damage like burns, sealed sweatglands, etc.
I know a girl that got her armpits done and she said the heat was painful over the entire procedure. This is NOT right, any decent gear will either have a cool blast of air or no noticable temp change.

GF tried a groupon deal and went once for her underarms.. She never went back because they had a ####ty lazer and was in pain for a week.
She goes to some place called Smooth .. something.. It's more expensive but far less irritation or any pain at all.
